From PA Facebook :
We're excited to announce the official launch of Plain Archive's sub-brand Plain Selective.

Unlike Plain Archive, Plain Selective will focus on mainstream films of bigger scale and bigger budget as well as a wide variety of genres.

Plain Selective will include releases which the home video sales rights are owned by a different company. The making of these releases will not be controlled by us. Instead, Plain Selective releases are going to be a joint effort between Plain and a partner.

Please note that Plain's main focus will still be Plain Archive. Therefore, Plain Selective could see as little as one or two releases a year.

This official launch of Plain Selective is what you might call an experiment, one of our ways of dealing with the diminishing state of the Blu-ray market. Between Plain and our partners, we'll be taking appropriate measures on our human resources to ensure Plain Archive meets its future release schedule. In other words, Plain Selective will be our second priority, with random release patterns.

By working with Lotte Entertainment and Video Travel, Terminator Genisys (2015) is going to be released as a Steelbook this May.

We'll be posting detailed updates on Terminator Genisys Steelbook as soon as we get Paramount's approval.

Thank you.

We're aware that Terminator Genisys is already available as Steelbook in overseas market. Most of the copies are aimed at our Korean customers as the film hasn't been released in Blu-ray yet in Korea. We will sell some copies to our international customers, but please note that it will be very limited in quantity.

Terminator Genisys Steelbook Lenticular Sample Video (Approved by Paramount) : High quality conversion lens was used to execute a perfect transition effect. It's also high-resolution, allowing the image to stay sharp and minimize any blur.

Of course, but you could say that is less bad than Terminator Salvation.
To my Terminator are two: Terminator and Terminator 2: the judgment day.
Of course there will be people who like Terminator Genysis, but what is indisputable is that being a "normal" movie, why get so many issues?

Oh well another line-up collabo or not, everyone wants a piece of the pie, first they start with WEA steels and all, then an amaray line, after that WWA and so on and so forth.... steelbook collectivity has gone from super exciting to flipping' oversaturated and kinda boring IAH... glad I'm skipping a lot of so called exclusive lines and this will be another one, good luck to PA hardcore completists (I was one a while ago and glad I moved on) ...

My thoughts almost verbatim. I haven't cared about a plain release since Ernest & celetstine.

I'm not sure how to feel about it. I would love to see PA do more blockbuster releases. But ONLY if they have creative control. That's what they excel at. Creativity.
If PA doesnt have any control over this edition, it's an easy pass for me. Sure the art is good, but its no different from another Korean steelbook.

It is a shame to see Plain Archive jumping on the bandwagon. It is getting a little boring seeing the same titles getting the premium treatment over and over. I have always thought Plain Archive is in a league of its own in terms of title selection, whereas other companies will release absolutely anything but I guess that is changing. :(
My thought exactly. I still remember the post that PA announced that they will never released a blockbuster film, and now this... They used to be so special in this market, sigh.... I know this is a sub-brand thing but still somethings changed imo...

To be honest, I am indifferent about this. On one hand, I LOVE the fact that PA is doing blockbuster films now, and call me an idiot or whatever you want, but I find blockbuster films are way easier to watch and sit through and enjoyable than most of art house/criterions that PA has released so far. Yes I am appreciate those films but I'm so tired of making myself watching them just because PA releases it and I "WAS" a completionist until a few months ago, I decided to sell off all my PA titles and I felt "free", not even one bit of regret.
On the other hand, I feel like PA is losing themselves slowly because now they are just like other Korean companies out there releasing blockbuster films for more profits. But I understand that they probably need to do so in order to keep the company running and get more profit because recently, a lot of PA releases sit there in the warehouse months and months later. They may be sold out on PA website but local stores in Korea still have them, so it's not technically "sold out".
So in the end, I still don't know how I feel. It's neither a good or bad thing, guess we'll just have to wait to see how things go.

And on the last note: WHY THIS MOVIE?! :O
