A majority of us film watchers are merely in the dark about classic films like ‘Blow Out’ and now that the film is coming to Blu-ray it is a chance to catch a glimpse of writing and direction marvels which Brian De Palma put into this thriller film from 1981.

Many might even as who Brian De Palma actually is? Well, in the film industry his films are considered quite inspirational and he is among the generation of great film makers. So, this definitely makes ‘Blow Out’ worth watching. What’s even better, is that the movie stars a young John Travolta.

As for the story of the film, it revolves around Jack Terry, who is a soundman who works at a basement film studio, where an exploitation horror film is in the stage of post production and the screaming of a female actors needs to be overdubbed. The search for a perfect scream for the film leads Jack to a local park where he decides to record various sounds. Amidst the recording, a car crashes into the creek and Jack is able to save the female passenger in the vehicle. It is later revealed that the driver was the Senator of the United States but the woman in the car was not his wife. Jack later also finds out the accident was in fact an assassination. This is where the thrills and chills of the film begin, taking the viewer till the very end.

The film is set to be released on Blu-ray on April 26th and those who haven’t heard of this film ever before should surely watch it now.
