A fall in Profit for Disney As Mars Needs Moms Performs Poorly

According to a recent report made by Disney, the company had a to go through a 1 % loss in profit since Mars Needs Moms had performed quite poorly, in spite of in spite of the fact that revenue was somewhat rising in the second quarter of this fiscal year the

Along with the poor performance of Mars Needs Moms there was also the 6 percent growth in revenue as reported by Disney leading their net income to increase from$942 million to $9.1 billion.

The title of this animated film is a twist on the name of another science fiction film from American International Pictures ‘Mars Needs Women’. The plot of this sci-fi adventure comedy revolves around a mischievous 9 year old kid, Milo (performance captured by Seth Green and voiced by Seth Dusky), who gets angry on his mother for being grounded. Later when Martians abduct his mother, he realizes his mistake and sets out on a mission to rescue her.

Unfortunately, soon after the release of ‘Mars Needs Moms’, the Disney income shrunk by 65 % proving to be a weak link for the company with the revenue dropping down to $77 million and their income falling down to $1.3 billion. Mainly, weakness at the studio was blamed by Disney for such a poor outcome. In spite of the fact that the animated film was mainly targeted towards young audiences, the response after its release was not very welcoming. While many got a glimpse of the film on the big screen, many still await a Blu-ray release of ‘Mars Needs Moms’ to watch it and make up their minds.
