That's good to know... maybe it'll be right up my street after all then! I love films like Jaws and Alien because of the suspense in them, plus I'm a big fan of sci-fi, so I probably should've given this film a chance much sooner. Although, another thing that's always put me off (this is where I agree with @Sigill), is that I'm not a big fan of Carpenter. I'm looking forward to finally giving this a watch anyway.
I am a big John Carpenter fan @Noodles! It's just I don't consider this to be as good as other people say it is. For me it's one of his lesser works but if you love Sci-Fi/ horror then you may like it. It's still a good film but I wouldn't put it up there with Big Trouble In Little China, Prince of Darkness and The Fog.
