and how will this be different from the AMAZON.fr version? (Or will it? probably AMAZON.fr will have upside down spine?)
**Update- I went ahead and cancelled my order with France and reordered with Germany.
They both have same release date and price, but- with the German I don't have to worry about a possible upside down spine OR forced subtitles. (And AMAZON.fr STILL Has No Image Up! WTF?!)

Ordered for now
Artwork looks great and looks like it will be embossed as I see a possible border on the steelbook

I will wait and see if a UK release happens

I received the 2001 German Steelbook today !
I believe, is it the same, how the Zavvi Steelbook ( silver & embossed, only the Infosheet is in german)

I've not seen this one yet. But have heard it compared to Moon. And being that Moon is a favorite of mine. I feel that this is a must have.

2001 is in many ways, more of an experience than it is a coherent movie.

Visually, it's one of the most impressive films you'll ever see. Combined with a sublime selection of classical music and pitch-perfect performances it truly is a work of art. The Blu-ray transfer does the movie proud as it has such a colourful palette.

That said, it's not for everyone and the lack of dialog and slow pace of the movie, combined with an inconclusive ending make it difficult for some to enjoy. Personally, I think it's fantastic.

One of my all time favourite movies and a real triumph on blu ray. Watched it again yesterday, two and a half hours of timeless beauty!!

I'm coming up on 5 years on this forum. It's helped me find lots of Steelbooks. I thought I would add pics of one Steelbook each day (as they are in alphabetical order in my collection) to that particular Steelbooks corresponding thread. I thought it might be good for bumping the old titles for new collectors and appreciating/discussing them all over again!

Todays post is Steelbook # 7
