plays future steelbook releases

im starting to get very annoyed with plays re_releases of steels now and just want to know what u think of them?

what do you make of the up and coming releases of plays steelbook?

also please state how long you have been collecting steelbooks for , so i can see if it effects the results in the poll , my method being, a collector for a few years will have most of these already and a collector for 12 months will be happy for theses re-releases.

Not buying any of them as of now and I have been collecting since March 2008. I think play's gone the way of $$$ just like everyone else and I feel the same about every re-release... a giant thumbs down. And thats the ever so "PG" version of how I really feel about these releases. The "R" rated version would get me banned Im sure so I shall leave it with just this.

Don't know which ones you're referring to as the Warner Wave is not an exclusive. If you're referring to Iron Man/Iron Man 2/SPR/Shooter, well had to get IM/IM2 and Shooter as I think the artwork is great and SPR well at least it's in English (apologies).
Universal have at least given us some titles that haven't been released before and in a different format (horizontal that is) well some like it some don't, I do.

The other thing to bear in mind is that all of these titles are also at a much lower price than normal (£9.99-£10.99). How Warner's can have the unmitigated cheek to want £15.99 for this wave, not good at all.

Finally I have put a rant up in the relevant thread where this post should be but applying to the Studios rather the retailers who will nearly always take what's offered. Case in point is HMV having the Exclusive of MiB3 whereas play.com have the Exclusive on MiB Trilogy at the same time. I appreciate that your argument is against titles being released in UK 6-12 months after they have been released in another country, but which is preferable this or same title being released in 6 to 10 different variants of the same cover (thinking of Salt, Res Evil:Afterlife, Capt America, Thor et al) or the German approach of reprinting a popular release. Personally whilst I have yet to see the film my personal favourite is The Hurt Locker which to the best of my knowledge has never been released in another country with the same artwork.

I have been collecting for 18 months -2 years and the figure in Collection Manager in the post bit is accurate (well it's about 30-40 short as I have some still to be delivered).

I have been collecting steelbooks for about a year.

If you are referring to the recent UK Warner wave, which I believe you are, then I will probably be only buying The Matrix, but if the art is good I might buy more.

I already have all/most of them from the Canadian releases.
