hdn steelbook of the year 2012.jpg

:ninja:Hey HDN Community!:ninja:

Just in time for the Oscar nominations (to be announced tomorrow), we come together once again for the 2nd Annual 'HDN Steelbook of the year' vote for our 'overall' favorite Steelbook™ of 2012. You are allowed to choose multiple titles, but cannot vote again after you submitted your vote with your multiple choices. Please choose carefully.

I have tallied all of your Steelbook 'nominations' from this thread and have posted a poll of the '25 most nominated' Steelbooks in this thread, in no particular order.

The community-chosen winner will be announced at the conclusion of the poll (January 31,2013).

Have fun everyone, and thank you all for making HDN such a fun, engaging and helpful community with your contributions!

Who should be the winner for 2012?

Surprised that Zombie Flesh Eaters didn't make the list, it's a gorgeous steel, one of my favourites. But hey, personal taste n' all that :) Voted for Prometheus, I love it's clear lines and artwork, pity about the film mind :p

The Terminator. Everything what you'd want is in/on it. Perfect!

The Raid would be my 2nd choice, fantastic design.

1-The Raid - UK
2-Iron Man - UK
3-The Terminator/Battle Royal - UK

The Raid should win...... Custom Art. Only in UK. Detail Debossing Amazing.....
Iron Man Great Releases for the UK but Futureshop version is always close to the heart.... by the way anyone gotta a copy to donate to me.... LOL.;)

I went for terminator - the play.com version is a superb steelbook......one of my all time fav films as well

I voted for The Raid over both Terminator and Iron Man. Terminator was nice, but was a bit disappointed with the back. As for Iron Man, actually prefer Iron Man 2 strangely enough.

The Raid was a complete surprise and the perfect steelbook of 2012 in terms of special treatment. It looks sexy as hell as well. :scat:

A special mention to MIB trilogy as well, which was as awesome in my opinion.

Hard to decide, these were the top ones for me this year:

1. Iron Man UK - embossing and front/back design makes this special but really shame about the mixed inside artwork with IM2.

2. The Dark Knight JP - a must for every steelbook fan. Nice artwork but wouldnt mind if it was different to the other premium collection editions from around the world.

3. Underworld Awakening WORLDWIDE - ideal choice for all three parts (front/back/inside) and really like the bling effect on Selene's guns. Hard to resist buying this.

4. Snow White & The Huntsman EU - Charlize/Ravena on front, need I say more?

5. Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol WORLDWIDE - embossed with great artwork all over, fits the feel of the movie perfectly.

I might vote for Iron Man or The Dark Knight.......well.....I'm a bigger Nolan than Favreau fan so The Dark Knight it is!

Another good year for steelbooks!

There's a lot of great Steelbooks on the list, but the winner for me has to be Iron Man (Play.com exclusive). That was the one where Play.com really upped their game and led to other great titles like The Terminator, The Raid and eventually Battle Royale.
