A Big Thank You to 20th Century Fox & Play.com (and lets not forget Wreck)

Fellow HDNs it looks like our prayers have been answered thanks to Wreck and the HDN Community.

If you don't know already, which im sure you do... but 20th Century Fox have just released a wave of play.com exclusive steelies, but here's the catch they have listened to what the HDN community have been saying.

So what do we have?

Awesome Front Art - Check!
Clean Back Art - Check!
Inside Art - Check!
No Blu-Ray Banner - Check!
No printed age certification ratings - Check!
Limited print run (4000) - Check!
Great Price - Check! (as pointed out by zesty, seriously at £9.99 they're a bargain!)

The only thing that is uncertain is if these titles are going to be de/embossed or not, if they are then this would be by far the best wave ever - if it's not already! But being honest they've ticked so many boxes I wouldn't complain if they weren't.

And whats happening with play.com?

Well thanks to Wreck it looks like we're going to be getting packaging designed especially for steelbooks - so no more bubble wrapped envelopes anymore, and hopefully no more damaged steelbooks.

I thought I'd just create this thread so we can say a big Thank You to the people who have made this happen, and so that Wreck can pass this on to the relevant people to show our appreciation.

This wave is by far the best ive seen. The chosen movies are amazing! and ofc, the artwork is outstanding! and its limited to 4000 copys, I love limited printed runs!

Lets not forget the price aint skyhigh either!

About the packaging, thats superb, I havnt bought a steelbook from play for a long time just cus of their packaging, now when they are changing that, I feel much more safe when ordering a steelbook from them!

I agree with everything said that is great with these steels lol except the no Bluray banner bit, blu banners define Bluray steelbooks, what would iron man be with out the banner, And others like IB FS, John Rambo, I am legend ect.

Don't get me wrong steels like zombieland and watchmen are stunning but I do prefer a nice blu banner

My fav: Zimmer 1408 lol

But anyway these are very nice and I'm so happy play are bring out nice steels again and at a great price.

The uk before this definatly had it the worst for Steelbook, I was so jelious hearing the stories of people just poping into there local FS or best buy or where ever, and finding steels at reduced price and bargains, believe me you have to be extremely lucky to find steels in any uk shop except HMV which is extremely over priced anyway hahaha

I really hope this wave becomes rare as I will actually be buy a few of these because I don't have to pay stupid shipping cost, IT FREE lol

This is great news for all on HDN, play have been outstanding along with Fox to have them all in Portrait and fantastic artwork

The only thing I would have liked is a steelbook for each Alien film, but beggers can't be choosers

While I like and already own all those mentioned FS and other steelbooks mentioned above (apart from Rambo, not yet ) I gotta say the blu-banner is ancient times now, we gotta move on, that's what everyone is doing these days (Japan/China), some look out of this world with them and are a must and others are too dull, it all depends, I think this wave is better off without them

You are absolutely right! Thank you very much for this awsome titles and for listening to us the customers! The only thing i don´t agree is the point with the blue banner. I allways liked the blue banner but, what i can see from the pictures so far, the Wave looks pretty good even without the banner.
