Has no resemblance to example of any film old school VHS releases
I still have a lot VHS releases in my collection and that includes Retail/Rental versions. I also still have some distributor's timecoded promo VHS releases

UK Home Media retail VHS releases mostly started in late 80's and took off big time in 90's before this was vhs was mostly done using rental.
After 1984 UK VHS used a different style of artwork

So I did some research too and I think what I have learned is the steelbook is designed around a 80-84 style US VHS for an 1984 movie not released until 1985 on VHS (when the logo and presentation was transitioning worldwide).

That's not going to bother my OCD at all and I'm so happy we delve into these things so we can find the tiniest reason to eventually despise
And
I think he just meant it vaguely resembles an example of an old school VHS. Not the specific film.
I agree that the poster meant that it's 'in the style of' an old VHS release, not that it actually looks like any particular release. Surely you can clearly see that the design has been made to look like an old school VHS case with the paper cover sleeve poking out the top and bottom of the somewhat tatty and ripped clear plastic outer sleeve!
