Info regarding missing Audio Track at Flicker Alley site and Disc Replacement Form:

*Confirmed: No need to send back the original disc*

Dear Flicker Alley Customer: Please note that one of the bonus feature audio options on the Blu-ray disc of our limited SteelBook edition -- A Trip to the Moon in B&W Audio Option 1, featuring Robert Israel's orchestral score and the original English narration written by Georges Melies -- is currently missing its narration track and only features Robert Israel's orchestral score. As such, all Blu-ray discs shipped at this time will be with this orchestral score only configuration.

This only affects the Blu-ray disc of this set. The DVD disc in this publication contains the correct audio for this bonus feature.

We are currently in the process of remastering and remanufacturing a Blu-ray disc which will have the correct audio option for this particular bonus feature, and will make it available by request to customers who fill out our on-line Disc Replacement Form below.

Please complete the following form with as much of your original order information as possible (to verify your purchase) and we will contact you once the replacement discs have been manufactured and are ready for shipment.

Why were replacements discs issued ?
What was the problem with the discs inside the steelbook ?

Just wanted to post this scan:
A Trip to the Moon

An update on the maybe rust.. I put it in a box with two steelbook shells (front and back without the plastic inside) and left them in there for the past 8 months. I didn't notice any spread or growth of the blackness. I'm still hesitant to mix this in the my regular steelbooks. This one may go in a poly bag instead of a steelshell.

I wouldn't quote me on this- but from my understanding- Steelbook's shouldn't technically "rust" just considering the type of metal that they're made out of...

They can. I asked Wreck recently. Steelbooks are tinplate. They are steel sheets coated with tin. The tin should protect them from rusting, but if there's a scratch that gets deep enough or if the steel was bad to begin with before it gets plated, it can lead to rust.

Probably a dumb question... But if I find this now - will it have the proper disc or will it be the one with the missing audio track?
If it is the one with the missing audio track - can I still request a replacement...? (I prefer to not just buy my movies but also actually watch them).

If it's a sealed copy then expect to contain the missing audio track disc. When I purchased mine I had to send off for the corrected disc. It arrived loose in a paper sleeve. It was down to the person who purchased the Steelbook to make contact. I would guess not all did or just kept the loose disc for themselves. I have no idea if you can still get the corrected disc or not. If you're purchasing an open copy, then I would ask the seller if they have the extra disc. There would be no way to tell until you try it.

Thanks for the info. I'm going to keep an eye out when I'm looking to buy it! Currently just trying to build a wishlist so want to have all the info necessary :)
