Note FilmArena when taking photos of spot glossed steelbooks have with photos not shown spot gloss effect before

This happened a good few times
Example Alita WWA Steelbook

So I would wait until we see more in hand photos from a different source to know for sure if steelbook don't have spot gloss

Photos posted by Virkia was sourced from FilmArena photos

Gloss would obviously be preferred, but the design and embossing is a huge step in the right direction for WWA Disney steels IMO. More like this please!

I have the US Best Buy one on preorder and I think the ROW version is better with embossing.. but then I saw the US one is gloss and debossing. Both are nice in their own ways. Not sure if I should just keep the Best Buy one or return it and get the ROW one..

Aladdin embossed >>>>>>>>>>> Aladdin debossed, gloss or not. It's not even close.
What part of the world will get embossed + gloss? LOL

Zavvi used to do gloss + embossed. I have a few 1st wave Disney steels like that. Before their 2nd lenticular wave.
Edit: I believe their recent Disney steels were also glossed/embossed, like Bolt and Meet the Robinson’s if I’m not mistaken

Even though FilmArena photos don't show the spot gloss finish

As far as I know the title/lamp/rock does have spot gloss finish as previously listed by scanavo

FilmArena have managed with a lot of WWA steelbooks when taking photos to miss showing spot gloss finish where a steelbook has it included

Yet when it's one of their own WEA steelbooks they don't have that issue when taking photos

Yr not mistaken and Disney can certainly do both when they choose . . . guessing this way (as with ALADDIN 2018) - making the treatment so different - is to encourage double-dipping.

Disney may also be looking at Zavvi's ability to shift stock of their lovely steelbooks with all 5 released September - December of last year still for sale despite price drops down to £9.99 and may be feeling that the extra expense of gloss 'n' 'boss is not worth it - if a premium finish isn't enough of an incentive for their steelbooks to sell at full price ...

A few of the recent Disney classics (UK) with embossed artwork and gloss finish:-

I think those titles ^ were just not as popular so didn’t sell as well, or they produced too many copies, IMO. Design-wise they’re awesome

That maybe spotglosed which is okay to a degree but seeing that night blue, it needs gloss. Not streaky matte. Gutted about that

Full gloss finish yes would have been better
But some matte steelbooks with parts of steelbook spot glossed can still look good in hand especially when the embossed areas are what has the spot gloss applied.

I would be more disappointed if this steelbook was not embossed

Zero embossing on a steelbook should be illegal
