Does anyone else here suspect that perhaps this early dispatch was intentional? The conspiracy theorist inside of me suspects that Zavvi knew full well that many people would fail to make payment if they dispatched a week earlier, therefore generating themselves a new batch of stock that they could sell via eBay...

It's pretty bad customer relations to charge customers ahead of schedule without first informing them, especially when most assume a fixed release date and budget accordingly!

Of course it was intentional, but not for the reasons you describe. Zavvi generally don't have a clue what they are doing, I don't think they make malicious decisions, they are mostly just incompetent. Everything has to be a conspiracy when it comes to Zavvi, but I think the truth is a lot simpler and less fishy.

Their ebay outlet Aladdin fiasco makes me consider something like this is very much possible. I have to say, I've lost any respect I had left for them as a company.

No they just got the stock early so why not send them out.

It may well be that they got the stock in earlier than anticipated and decided to ship it out ASAP.

They also put an earlier ship date on their Zavvi Outlet ebay listing too - so I'm not sure if that had something to do with it. After all if they say on there that they are going to ship within a certain amount of time then they probably have to stick to it.

Buddy, you've been full of conspiracy lately, but when retailers are inconsistent in their operation or message, I do believe they open themselves up for this type of feedback.

Having said that, I do think that this belongs in the retailer specific thread, and this comment should make it's way to the appropriate place, so that we do not clutter this thread unnecessarily with talk that is not related to the movie, the steelbook, or the like.

Thanks.

Agreed.

If people can't keep 19 quid in their account then they're in the wrong hobby. I've been in financial crisis myself and I definitely wasn't pre ordering anything of any kind at that time.

Well said! I'm in the same boat, I think when you preorder is because you should have that money aside for it! I do have that money at least one month before release.

Wow,.. this is some of the rudest stuff I've heard on here since becoming a member. Stop judging people's situations and their rights to own exclusives. I pre-Ordered Aladdin in April,.. I don't know about others but "I budget". Get paid every two weeks. I have other expenses (Bills/Baby,..the list seems to go on.) I pre-order so that I CAN set the money aside for the ones I want. (Before they sell-out and increase in price!) "If my mortgage company decided to take payment early would that be fair? Should I have had the balance of my mortgage in my account because I'm going to pay it off eventually?"

Don't get me wrong I would love this Steelbook earlier, I wanted it in april when I preOrdered it,..It's gonna be amazing!! "I'll be bummed if I miss out now because they tried to take payment early" Kill BIll came out the day before no problems I expected it to come off. Aladdin was "unexpected".

If Zavvi can send me 40 eMails about "waiting on Indiana Jones", It would be also nice to notify of preOrder date changes, and I'm pretty diligent at keeping on top of it myself through their website/facebook/HDN.
I did the retry card and it's still processing so I might still get them and hope everyone else gets theirs as well, we all deserve to own this beauty.
