I know I'm among the minority, but I actually like and prefer a matte finish when done right. So far the Zavvi releases I've picked up have had good finishes.

I think all these Disney steels are getting unfairly bashed just because they are not glossy. They are not bad by any means. Yes they could have been better, but they are what they are.

personally i think the artwork and the quality of the artwork is amazing i havent lacquered any of the recent disney ones , well bar peter pan as i wanted fairy dust , i love the pictures they use as they are not used anywhere else which is why i bought these and i actually look forward to seeing them in hand .
but glossy not glossy is all individual tastes , it does add extra depth to some pictiures and increase colour but sometimes not needed .
bring forth all these disney ones they are beautiful well apart from poppins thats poop

oh i just got a dispatch note

I really think the matte finishes have turned out nicer than expected (except Little Mermaid) and for this Disney line they should have specifically done titles that were gloss or matte based on which would have made that artwork look better. I personally think Alice would have been better as full gloss because of the purple. 101, dumbo, and Lady and the Tramp have been perfect as matte. Peter Pan would have been better as gloss. But one title that would have been AMAZING as matte (if done right) - my daughter was watching Pinocchio this morning, if this title would come out with the kind of matte that the last 4 have, it would be the best version for that artwork. sadly, all of our opinions are subjective and you can't please everyone.

I'm just hoping they avoided random embossing on this one.
The cat's head is inside the title banner, so expect his head to be embossed (and maybe just his head), like the house on Up and Cruella's head on 101 D. I see a clock. Let me see, round like the 101 D headlights... :emb:

Damn it! I canceled 101 D because I couldn't afford 2 steelbook's this month and now they delay this! If I only knew that I would have sticked with 101 D and in May I'd receive this :/
Very sad about, but what can I do....
