Hey guys! Wanted to share this with my fellow US & Canada members.

I suppose some of our European members can benefit from this as well.

I think this is very news worthy for all us steelbook collectors, so it deserves it's own thread for now. :scat:

I just got an order in from amazon.de and I was very surprised at the SIZE
of the box that appeared, just for 6 steelbooks. Well, it appears that for any
NEW release, that they haven't packaged up yet or a catalog release that might be on backorder (like my order of Judge Dredd was), they have a new box. EEK! :oohyeah:

We all remember that the package had been improved recently to bubble wrap inside a foldover box. :movie:

Well, now there is a new box, frustration free packaging, SPECIFICALLY labeled for steelbooks / metal packaging.

Pics below of the box, before opening and then after I opened it.

Amazon.fr

I was psyched when Dark Shadows briefly showed up as in stock on Amazon.fr, so much so that I ordered two of them. I received one box today and opened it to find Rise of the Planet of the Apes steelbook. Of course when I submitted a return they said it is OOS. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt at least until the next package arrives. I have always had nothing but positive experiences with all of the European Amazons, until now.

It seems I can't log on to amazon.co.jp or amazon.cn with my usual details.

Does anybody know why? Is it something with them being located in asia and I need to set up a new account?

Thanks :)

I use my normal login for Amazon.co.jp, so it should be the same for Amazon.cn too....maybe you accidently typed in the wrong login info, sometimes happens to me.

I've tried several times on both sites. I'm positive I've typed in the right login info.

Strange.

I ended up creating a new account on .co.jp, with the same email address, password that I already have on amazon and it worked.

Still can't login to .cn though. :p

I've been waiting for a Amazon.de order to arrive since it was shipped on Jan 15th, their est delivery date was Jan 23rd.
Does anyone know what method Amazon.de uses to ship orders to Canada? Does DHL make the delivery or CanadaPost?

Canada Post. Don't worry, it normally take 2-3 weeks to arrive to us in Canada.

For Canada (in my history):
Amazon.fr: less than 1 week
Amazon.co.uk: 2 weeks
Amazon.de: 2-3 weeks

Thanks for the answer.
Wow, 3 weeks....was not expecting it to take that long.
Hopefully it arrives tomorrow then.

My second package arrived yesterday and it contained X-Men: First Class Steelbook :(
I have to give them credit because they gave a full refund and I got to keep both steels which happened to be mint. :D

Ok.. How do you "contact" amazon.co.uk?? I got my order and 1 of the 6 steels is damaged, and not from shipping. I want a replacement, but I don't want to pay, then be reimbursed for the shipping cost back to them to return the damaged item.

If you go to their help page, there is a 'contact us' button on the left side.
I think you're suppose to login, click on the order that you have issue with and you should be able to send them a message.
