Hey guys! Wanted to share this with my fellow US & Canada members.

I suppose some of our European members can benefit from this as well.

I think this is very news worthy for all us steelbook collectors, so it deserves it's own thread for now.

I just got an order in from amazon.de and I was very surprised at the SIZE
of the box that appeared, just for 6 steelbooks. Well, it appears that for any
NEW release, that they haven't packaged up yet or a catalog release that might be on backorder (like my order of Judge Dredd was), they have a new box.

We all remember that the package had been improved recently to bubble wrap inside a foldover box. :movie:

Well, now there is a new box, frustration free packaging, SPECIFICALLY labeled for steelbooks / metal packaging.

I did and also sent them pictures of the total lack of any packing whatsoever!!
They gave me a full refund and sincerely apologised !!

I am still amazed that it arrived in mint condition! Who would have thought!

Apom, Ive always had great experiences .... just order 2 steels possibly ... should get better packaging.

This is how my Steelbook of Safehouse arrived this morning!!!!

No packing at all just the address label slapped on the back!!!!

So THAT'S what frustration free packing is!

Just got my Back to the Future SB's from Amazon.de. This is the first time I have ordered from them. I was very happy with the packaging. Each SB packaged in its own cardboard box, then placed in a larger box with some wrapping paper. I know some people have raised some issues with these smaller cardboard boxes but everything arrived mint.

Just got my mail today and saw a box from Amazon Germany!!..Opened it, and it was the wrong steelbook
It would cost me more to send it back,then I paid for it!!..the packing slip says the right one (Scott Pilgrim), but yet I received Stat of Play!!??..I contacted them, via email and they wont send me Scott Pilgrim, they will only refund my money,once the receive it!!
Anybody had this happen to them??..It would cost me about $10 to send it back,plus a box,etc..and I only paid $11 USD for it!!

You need to explain the situation about the shipping costs. You can't be expected to lose out when it was their mistake. They should cover the return costs or replace the item.

Finally received DKR from Amazon.de. But when I first noticed the packaging it was smashed on one side. My first thought was there's no way this made it thru. Luckily when I opened it everything looked find. Samething happened with Terminator as well.

The good news is I received my four 9.99 SB's today from Amazon.ca which is not especially surprising since I live in Canada. Also, none of them appear to be dented. They were shipped in a simple tight cardboard wrap but no other protection.

The bad news is that three of them have tears in the plastic and the fourth has a loose disc inside. I opened them up because of the tears and the loose disc. Two of the SB's are fine but 300 (which had the loose disc) had a small dent under the j card and the loose disc has a noticeable scratch. Also my 300 and Blade Runner have a couple of small spots where paint is missing.

So I wrote to Amazon.ca about the dent to my 300 and the scratch to the disc. As the item was damaged and they are now out of stock they gave me a complete refund and allowed me to keep the product which was very sporting of them.

Amazon.ca are touch and go when it comes to ordering to UK - whether its a big or small order its Pot luck if they turn up mint.

Good customer service though.
