SteelBook art will change slightly. Watch the trailer to understand the concept behind design.

Never heard about the movie :wtf:

I guess we'll have to see what the movie + artwork look like :D

That is the artwork, minus the spine. The trailer talks about "Rearden Steel" which is a strong metal ... so the steelbook will look and give the feel of that metal .... like a "play on" for case itself.

I think once the actual steelbook pics arrive, it'll leave less to the imagination and more to how good/bad it looks. I'm guessing it could resemble the T2 Japan steel in this sense ... unless it's gloss etc. Should be interesting though, and probably pretty darn limited.

Thanks Wreck!
Any idea on where this will become available? When?

It's already available to order from the site linked in the post. Additionally, it will be delivered estimated Dec 19-23rd according to their product page.

Intriguing news. Particularly since its a US steel. Not sure they'll be much interest in it given that the movie was a minor release, albeit of a very famous and polarizing book. Would also love for it to be G2, but I have my doubts.

It is in fact G1. I'm interested in the title, trying to find out more info on its "limited availability" as that might intrigue me more. The movie itself has a crap-load of extras that seem interesting as well. I like trains, so it may be more interesting to me than others. Might look real nice next to my Sucker Punch and Battlefield 3 steelie.

But as most others, I would have preferred G2. Tho, I'll support the American economy and future USA steels by buying one.

Just pre-ordered mine, they did not charge me shipping going through Paypal. G1, G2, what the hell, it's a US release. Better than nothing

+1 on supporting the American economy and future US steels.

This is so freaky Wreck that I had the same thought on how to display this steel mainly because I was on that Sucker Punch thread a lot today. My "plan" is to have this between the Battlefield 3 and Skyrim steels flanked by Sucker Punch or the FS Transformers ROTF steels.

What? They did not charge you shipping through Paypal? Did you get the regular steelbook or one of the film cell editions?

I would HIGHLY suggest that anyone interested in purchasing this steelbook do some research into Ayn Rand and "Atlas Shrugged" first... This book has a lot to do with the destructive Conservative and Capitalist mindset that dominated todays Politics.

never heard of this movie either...ratings dont seem very good though, can anybody comment on this movie?

Living in the DC area, I was lucky enough to catch this one in the theaters. Personally, I liked the film. It didn't get very good reviews, though I think that the limited release and bad marketing campaign may have had something to do with this, and because the film didn't do too well in the theaters, I seriously doubt that Part II or Part III will ever be made. I'm reading Atlas Shrugged right now, which is a 1000+ page tome. D28 is right though... unless you're buying this solely for the collectibility or to support American Steelbooks, you should look into Ayn Rand's philosophy first. If you're a big supporter of the "Occupy" movement that is going on now, this movie is probably not for you. Then again, you may just enjoy it for the sake of watching a good film. Anyways, I've got mine pre-ordered. LOVE the simplicity of the design. I was planning on buying this in Amaray, so I'm thrilled that they're releasing it in a Steelbook!

Never heard of the film, but the steelbook looks really nice - I much prefer ones that are 'less busy' -is this a US only release? What hope for us across the pond?;)

Just took an order through to submit stage and postage was added for UK, so would suggest it's free shipping to US only if using Paypal.
