Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (Blu-ray SteelBook) (Zavvi Exclusive) [UK]

While it's nice to see some extras goodies with this release, the steelbook is too plain for a vibrant and colourful movie. The outside image may have been better inside but even then there are much better images they could have used. The poster or one of the cards would have been better on the front of the steelbook. Why is the back and the inside the same leaping Austin Powers, like they could not work out what to do on the back or did not care.
Keeping with the 20th Anniversary (or thereabouts) theme, what about steelbook releases for the following - some not even released in the UK on Blu-ray?

It's a reasonably priced steelbook, with debossing that comes with extra goodies. Despite some people's vocal dislike of the artwork, I'm not surprised it sold out fairly quickly.Sold Out
one negative about Zavvi system is that if they take a listing down for work or anything it will always mention sold out. Just like how prior to a pre-order actually going for order it reads Sold Out.
I dunno. If they had an 'OFFLINE' or 'NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME' placard there, it might feel just as frustratingly enigmatic.
Ah yes, the iconic "vault" imagery from the film! Although the thread title is wrong, it should say Top Secret, not Austin Powers. An easy mistake to make given that they're both spoofs of spy films.
Not very shaggadelic.
It reminds me of Get On Up, I don't like grey... with all the popping colours in the film, you'd think they would have used a striking yellow or pink.
It looks like a StudioCanal release, so it could go either way regarding gloss, but if we had this artwork with gloss...

... It'd be one of the steelbooks of the year. Now the artwork chosen just looks bland — I don't care if the art I want has been displayed on amarays, there's no friggin' reason why good artwork can't be picked once again over something new but bad!
Also, welcome to the Future! Looking forward to the 20th Anniversary edition of Cast Away which should be due this year, too.
Yeah, I'd go along with that - especially if they did some cute deboss of 'Mike Myers' and 'Austin Powers' and emboss 'International Man of Mystery'
Or a super clever emboss of the stripes in the flag around them, then deboss 'Mike Myers' and the title.
Either of those would really cut it.
Castaway just cries out for something really cool, class and glossy - let's hope so.

The Amaray artwork is better than the steelbook one. There isn't much difference in price though, it's a shame they can't change this artwork as it's a good price.
This being on and off sold out means they is no accounting for taste.. And on that bombshell and 30 posts ti e for me to gave a post break.
