There you go, scalping thrown in there again.
The ethics of reselling for whatever reason is crazy on this forum, especially when you hear some of the opinions on it from different members.
So I could say, sell my Captain America Nova Choice lenti valued at say £100 mint and sealed present day, now IF I get £100 in an auction is that right or wrong considering it was whatever, say £50 delivered when released? See I didn't buy it on release, it cost me £120 delivered or maybe just abit under when I purchased mine, so do I have a right to get my £120 back or should sell it for less to appease someone cause it may be seen as scalping?
See when someone sells their Doctor Strange via auction anything above the cost price is scalping but if you take a loss its fair game? WTF lol. If you bought your house for 100k and it was valued 3 years later when you decide to sell for 150k does that make you a greedy person? Who honestly would slap away a fistful of dollars for anything they own especially if that fistful of dollars is more than what the person paid for it?
In an auction no one is making any of the bidders bid. Everyone has a figure in their head of how much they are willing to spend on a title. I don't go scouring ebay when I want a release then naming and shaming people when I see prices they're asking for and i'm not willing to pay..I simply keep looking or wait.
How is buying an extra copy to sell or selling an extra copy you got with a one click any less ethical than buying an extra copy for trade purposes? I'm not saying either are bad, we're all trying to a, live and b, pay for this expensive habit we have.
Then there are people who say "true collectors" are missing out cause of scalpers, that annoys me the most. A true collector wouldn't cheap out if they needed a specific steelbook in their collection. IDEALLY we all want to pay face value but there are always people joining the game at various stages who are going to have missed out on premiums from whichever retailer.. I got into Novamedia just before their Avengers exclusive dropped, I had pay up for all the previous releases and they seldom came at face value. In my opinion, a true collector would have his finger on the pulse to get which ever release he wants, I don't buy these members who were buying multiples of the Doctor Strange blufans via the HDN group buy cause they were "picking up copies for friends". What a crock. Who can honestly say they know someone who collects Filmarena,Blufans,Novamedia,Kimchidvd,Mantalab,Mondo X or Hdzeta releases so casually that they aren't even a member of this website or the other website and can't join the group buy themselves?
"Hey mate, can you get in on that thing..whats it called..a group buy is it?..yeah thats it, for the new double lenticular blufans Doctor Strange...I've seen the pics on facebook and have to have it but have no possible clue how to obtain it myself"
