I'm assuming the conversation went something like this:

Designer: Here, what do you think of this design?
Distribution: What? No! You can't put the title on the spine! If we do that we can't order a single huge print-run for the whole of Europe; instead we'd have to pay for smaller print runs with the title in different languages. No title saves us big money!
Designer: But how will they know what film it is?
Distribution: Hmm... put the characters on the spine? Besides, paper's cheap - we can put the name somewhere on the slips instead.

And henceforth, Marvel steelbooks in the EU that weren't WEA for a specific country or retailer have not had titles on the spines.

It's funny that people hate the characters on the spines, I actually quite like them and think they look good. But I usually get multiple copies of the Marvel movies, so at least one of them will have the title on it.

Ah I thought so. I think we've been screwed personally. Even if we do get the it seems like they are leaving us until the last minute. Which would be typical

That's why you like them, because you collect multiple versions. A lot of people can only afford one version or want one version.

Maybe, but if the only version I got didn't have the title, I wouldn't mind. I know what movie it is and I have my MCU collection separate and in order of release, so I won't get confused. I can *understand* why some people wouldn't like it, but I still think they're nice.

Only inside the A and inner circle is debossed, the outside where the corners of the steelbook are aren't

Embossed rather than debossed? Looks debossed from the pic, especially considering there's no frame.
