Forgive me for being a bit stupid here but what do you mean by open ended and open edition?
Cheers
It's when there's no set print number. So they can just keep making more for as long as they want. Once they sell out of their first run, they can just make a new run and sell some more.

Like I didn't see any mention of "limited edition" so it could very well be an open edition.

Son of bee itch. Just searched my in-box and I did not get it.

BTW...not a fan of the new board design and interface. Liked the way it was before my self imposed hiatus*

*could not take the torture of seeing all the awesome steelbooks I was missing out on while I was unemployed.

I wasn't a fan either geek butnive got used to it now. And I use a iPhone and I can't stand mobile sites. I'm still hoping for a desktop site on my phone because I miss out on all the other information on posts like where the person is from and how many posts and what number post it is (and I like all those statistics) hopefully soon anyway.

I've been in and out of employment for the last 2 years and it's sh*t so I know where your coming from. My unemployment spurts are longer than my employment spurts hence why I don't jump on all the cool Asian releases and GB's for DC steels and stuff. I've decided that 2015 is a major life change for me in the way I am, look at things, stopping certain addictions (and I don't mean collecting) and moving forward in the right way (By that I mean my life style, health and priorities). Woah I was getting deep there

Ooooooohhhhhh I gets ya. Not sure how I've never heard the expression or put 2 and 2 together. I wouldn't be surprised if they did get another batch printed but like many have mentioned about the jungle book and little mermaid fiasco they may have learned their lesson but then again this is a whole different kettle of fish (although the disney classics are highly regarded and loved) this the first big team marvel film that worked, has 3D and they perfected the hulk lol winner all around.

When this came out a few years back I was made redundant for the 3rd time in the same bloody company and I was obvioulsy a bit upset mainly due to me moving my life with my job to Birmingham (only 3 hours away from Essex but still) and my mate rang me to see if I was ok and stuff and he just said to me "go and watch avengers tomorrow.... The hulk will cheer you up" lol and he was right

Grrr...I hate how mobile devices have made the internet a boring ugly place.

Why would they hold back stock if they could just keep it open for another day and then "turn it off" or whatever the conspiracy theorists think is happening.
Why only leave it open for two hours? Even four hours would've sold more copies. I'm by no means a zavvi apologist, I've cancelled my fair share of orders due to some if their practices, but I think it's just a matter of them selling out because people make multiple orders which they end up canceling or customers cancel themselves due to one thing out another.
We've been taught to place an order just in case it sells out and cancel later which is what a lot of people do nowadays. Especially if they're buying multiples hoping to cash in.
I don't think there's a big conspiracy to these things. It could be my naivete, but that's just how I feel.

This isn't a set amount. This is open ended. If it wasn't they would have "limited" in the description as well as a print amount stated. They know they are going to sell well over 10,000 of these. This is a marvel title and they know they can sell the crap out of it. Marvel, Lenticular and 3D is going to get a lot of sales especially with part 2 right around the corner.

I said that like a few posts above...

I also said we're all just guessing at this point. Nothing anybody says about print run in this thread has any facts behind it, including myself. Anyone preaching anything as fact is just kidding themselves and everyone else.

I could see it getting a US "exclusive" release around the time Age Of Ultron comes out also possibly minus the lenticular.

Flip your phone horizontal and all that information appears (it does on my 6+)

There's no way this is a 4k print run, didn't they announce that GOTG was the lowest print run for a marvel release at 5K? My guess is that this is 6K

Just wondering when a release does not mention the print run after the initial rush when first released do they simply keep on printing according to demand? Then when demand drops below a certain level does the publisher then decide to let it go out of print?

I think you're giving too much significance to the word 'limited'. There are titles that have sold out in minutes described as 'limited' and there are titles that have been available for years that are described as 'limited'. There have been plenty of Zavvi releases that have sold out without the print run information being revealed. I don't think you should post speculation with such conviction unless you have evidence to back up your claims.

I nabbed 2 in case of damage. So far all of my Zavvi's have made it over the pond OK, but they're so poorly packaged I didn't want to risk it. I don't own this in any other version, so to grab something nice looking like this is cool.
