Hopefully this isn't one of the ones that sells out, then right before release they put it back in stock and it's easy to get after that for months and months.
Edit: it's okay if it comes back in stock for a couple days but for it to stay in stock after release and go at a severe discount after a month or two would suck for those paying full price.

Call me crazy, but I'm actually considering cancelling my order... mainly because of the price, but also because I already have an Avengers steel, and I'm not even that crazy about the movie, so one is enough for me.

Actually no. I just happen to have restored my life to a bit more stability and I can afford to pick up the hobby again. The timing is purely a big coinkydink. In all honesty it was this Steelbook that pulled me back in.

You would lose that bet. I have a majority of the SteelBook Magnet releases and none have ever had any type of embossing. The magnet wouldn't lay flat.

@laz305 That's incorrect, the Steelbook is embosseed, not debossed.

Basically you are wrong. Star Trek Into Darkness steelbook is embossed with lenticular magnet and the magnet fits just fine.

Everything is worth what people are willing to pay for it, and clearly a lot of people are willing to pay for this. Considering that's it's an amazing film that is now finally getting a steelbook to match I'm not remotely surprised at the price and, as I said before, in special cases like this I don't mind paying a premium if it means getting the best product possible.

Only reason i have ordered this is because it has the art i always wanted on the front and the A on the back.

I have the singapore metal pak from singapore with the full slip which i bought from someone on here and it has the US cut of the film (spear is visible) so those discs will be going in this steel if it looks awesome.

There's quite a few that have had embossing on them. Star Trek and Hansel and Gretel are a couple. The magnets stays on them fine. I don't think they need a flat surface. The embossing will just raise the magnet slightly on them.

a debossed boarder with some inner embossed elements will cause a magnetic lenticular to suck down to the lower level sometimes making it look kinda warped. I'd prefer no embossing / debossing on this one.
