It does look like a nice steel but the cover is similar/identical to others being released, just without the extra discs/3D. My view is, if you like the film and want to own a steelbook version, it's not a bad price to pay. If you want a collectable, get a FS one...

Even though I spent well over the odds for Thor (in hindsight a bargain when looking on eBay now), I really don't see how anyone can complain about getting an Avengers steelbook for £12.79.

I've watched the bonus disc and while it's ok, I'm not going to lose any sleep over not having it. And most importantly - the missus asked me: "when do you ever watch any of the bonus stuff?"

So yeah, the one disc will be more than sufficient.

I don't think we have seen any pictures of this one yet but it would be very surprising if the design isn't the same as the other versions available. I don't think the OP will be updated until someone has this in hand and can confirm that it is indeed embossed.

Ok cool then. Embossing quite well helps make the £12.79 discount price seem like a good deal for this steel overall, despite it only having 1 disc.

Wonder why it wasn't already officially confirmed though... Embossing or not can be the difference between a buy or no buy for many ppl i'm sure.

The spine was enough to put me off buying this, if they wanted to remind ppl of this being an ensemble of characters just leave that for the inside art. Ive put my name down for a group buy on the Future Shop release instead.

Exactly the opposite for me. I think down the line folks will regret not getting this. I love the spine just like Smurfs and Tintin! :scat:

Why would you say the FS is a collectible? This version is so much better. Does not have Marvel plastered all over it.

Typical of Disney UK. Screwed POTC-4, Cars-2, War Horse and now Avengers.

I agree with you on the Disney front Igans but the UK one was cheaper than the other variations and some people will go for it on that basis only (especially ebay re-sellers).

Saying that I've ordered the Spanish version for the second disc.

I'll keep my £12.79 HMV version for a possible future trade but I was ordering the Chuck Norris boxset and Mean Streets blu-ray from Amazon.es anyway so the P&P for it was effectively free.

From what I have heard all those who got the German version ended up with an edited version...
that has removed the blade showing through Coulson's chest.

Swedish version is cut too

The BBFC has stated on their site that film is uncut with the blade showing, the UK version should be unedited.
