So I'm seeing some people got theirs in a box. That's what I've always got mine in from HMV.

However I just got mine and it was in a bag. AND its slightly bent ARGH.

Is this what the "issue" seems to be? I haven't kept up on all this (I'll go back and read soon) but I do need to shoot HMV and email and hope they resolve this. Thanks!

No the issue is about slash marks on the spine. Yours is most definatly damaged! I would contact them straight away.

Thanks for the reply!

I have a question for any US members who ordered from HMV and had an damaged item. From what I can see they expect me to pay shipping back to them?? They make no mention of reimbursement for that on their help info. I shot them an email but no response yet.

Hey Cooey, they gave me a freepost address but I always send recorded to make sure. I'm not sure what they do if sending from abroad. I would hope they would cover the costs.

I previously returned some other items using the freepost address and obtained proof of postage. I later checked my CC and realised I hadn't been credited back. So I called them and they refunded my account straight away which was great!

i ordered 3 and one was spine sliced. i returned it for a refund and it took about 3 days for them to issue the refund back to my account.
cant see why you cant just change them instore, wont they just get returned to the same warehouse.

Fed up of HMV and their poor customer service or lack of common sense. I received two replacement copies of Avengers Assemble the other day, one came on the usual cardboard undamaged (as far as I can tell) but the other came in a jiffy bag and I knew straight away it woul be damaged; which it was in the way of a nice dent by the top corner. How ludicrous of them to send a replacement for a damaged steel in a flimsy, poorly padded envelope? They probably won't be able to replace it again and will have to give me a refund which means if I want another copy I'll have to reorder it at £20 and I originally got it with the discount

Personally I wonder why the manufacturers don't add an inch or so of polystyrene at the opening end of a box of steels. Then no matter how dumb the packers are, they won't be able to slash the spines. Therefore less returns. A logical implementation that would make everyone happy.
