Mod mode off:
FA seem to be getting complacent and most of their releases selling out no matter the artwork used (among other peeves here and there) is not going to give them a wake up call. Not to mention the oooooh-aaaaah'ers brigade
But hey let's slap a "limited to 500 copies" sticker on that bad boy (pun intended) and call it a day![]()

I think my "mod mode" must be broken... I've always been vocal and honest when it comes to sharing my thoughts, no matter who the release is by. So long as you express your opinion the right way (non-aggressively and by offering constructive advice), then feedback can only be helpful, right?
As for Film Arena... I completely agree that they're overdoing it now. Quantity over quality is never a good thing, although they do still turn out some winners (most recently Dredd and Cloverfield Lane for example - IMO, of course). I personally like the look of their Bad Boys release too, but agree the slip artwork could've been better.

I've been more vocal about my opinions recently about FA. They are churning out way too much and losing quality focusing on quantity. They need to switch it back to how they used to be. I'm certainly being a lot more picky with what I buy from them

70 releases in only two years is pretty insane. I'd personally like to see them slow down a little bit, but a lot of that has to do with me not having as many credit cards as the rest of you collectors.
But yeah, the quality has fallen quite a bit. Awesome releases are becoming few and far between.
This is not a reflection of any run-ins' we may have had in the past - but you should come out of "Mod Mode" more often, we need more of that straight talking from people in your position.
You're quite right, and there are, as with all the other premium brands far too many "oooh-ahhers", apologists and unrepentant fanboys who would buy any old turkey if it came from the right place![]()

Here comes the PA brigade![]()

That made me laugh far more than it should have.![]()

As for PA, I'm getting a little tired of it all and I certainly don't defend all of their releases as some have been pretty mediocre. And I still haven't forgive them not to make the Oldboy boxset avail for international customers.
Off topic much this post?![]()

It's all good mate... you can't please everyone!Yes you have, and I agree - sadly my brand of forthright sometimes gets mistaken for something entirely different; but hey. I'm working on appealing to a wider audience
As regards this release - I love the steelbook - I know some hate it; but hey. it's always subjective. Stumbling block is the slip that is pretty weak in the art department,, and bears no relationship in design to the steel
We all know FA can rise to the occasion,, but, as you say, too much quantity (for whatever reason; I won't point the finger at greed - it may well be studio demands) almost inevitably means a lesser product when issued from such a relatively small company.
Probably too late to hope for last minute revisions . . . . ?????

I think this release looks pretty solid, but they're not standing nearly close enough on the cover.

Maybe we can petition FA to change it?

No need for the indirect post dude... I promise I can handle any criticisms/disagreements.It's amusing how some didn't catch the joke in my mode on/off posts and some took the opportunity to make it about how they're so great at giving feedback but hey ho
