Mod mode off:

FA seem to be getting complacent and most of their releases selling out no matter the artwork used (among other peeves here and there) is not going to give them a wake up call. Not to mention the oooooh-aaaaah'ers brigade :p

But hey let's slap a "limited to 500 copies" sticker on that bad boy (pun intended) and call it a day ;)

I actually must agree with this. And the worst part about it is these are selling out because of people getting them to resell on eBay for double the price since it is a limited number print run. I like the limited numbers but they do really need to overhaul there design artwork choices. And this is coming from one of the ooooh-aaaah'ers normally. They only thing his has going for it in my book right now is that no other company has done it and I don't have the steelbook either.

I would like the slip better if they changed the color of the title and took off what you gonna do maybe move it to the back and finish the actual saying. If to many more underwhelming releases come out I'm gonna have to pick and choose what I get from them. And that's hard to do with my OCD issues

This is not a reflection of any run-ins' we may have had in the past - but you should come out of "Mod Mode" more often, we need more of that straight talking from people in your position.
You're quite right, and there are, as with all the other premium brands far too many "oooh-ahhers", apologists and unrepentant fanboys who would buy any old turkey if it came from the right place :(

@Jawcrc - Waking up and smelling the flowers is a good thing, and is a certain cure for excessive ocd. :)

I've been more vocal about my opinions recently about FA. They are churning out way too much and losing quality focusing on quantity. They need to switch it back to how they used to be. I'm certainly being a lot more picky with what I buy from them

Watched this recently. Film hasn't dated well at all IMO. I'd remembered this as an awesome, cool action flick and much better than when I'd recently re-watched it. We've come a long way since this.

The 'comedy' bits weren't funny either. More like cringey......

I think my "mod mode" must be broken. :p

I've always been vocal and honest when it comes to sharing my thoughts, no matter who the release is by. So long as you express your opinion the right way (non-aggressively and by offering constructive advice), then feedback can only be helpful, right?

As for Film Arena... I completely agree that they're overdoing it now. Quantity over quality is never a good thing, although they do still turn out some winners (most recently Dredd and Cloverfield Lane for example - IMO, of course). I personally like the look of their Bad Boys release too, but agree the slip artwork could've been better.

Yes you have, and I agree - sadly my brand of forthright sometimes gets mistaken for something entirely different; but hey. I'm working on appealing to a wider audience :naughty::)

As regards this release - I love the steelbook - I know some hate it; but hey. it's always subjective. Stumbling block is the slip that is pretty weak in the art department,, and bears no relationship in design to the steel :(
We all know FA can rise to the occasion,, but, as you say, too much quantity (for whatever reason; I won't point the finger at greed - it may well be studio demands) almost inevitably means a lesser product when issued from such a relatively small company.

Probably too late to hope for last minute revisions . . . . ?????

70 releases in only two years is pretty insane. I'd personally like to see them slow down a little bit, but a lot of that has to do with me not having as many credit cards as the rest of you collectors.:hilarious:

But yeah, the quality has fallen quite a bit. Awesome releases are becoming few and far between.

It's amusing how some didn't catch the joke in my mode on/off posts and some took the opportunity to make it about how they're so great at giving feedback but hey ho

Yeah man, too many. I prefer HDZeta's and Manta Lab's momentum. Will that last? Who knows, so far so good.

It's all about balance. Members such as your kind self and a few others are holding the torch well. :)

Here comes the PA brigade :p

That made me laugh far more than it should have. :p

As for PA, I'm getting a little tired of it all and I certainly don't defend all of their releases as some have been pretty mediocre. And I still haven't forgive them not to make the Oldboy boxset avail for international customers.

Off topic much this post?

Probably cos you read the post on the previous page and there's context to my joke between us ;)

It's all good mate... you can't please everyone! ;)

Yes, the steelbook is a winner in my eyes too. It's much better than the previous UK steel if you ask me. Let's hope FA are watching and taking feedback in regards to the slip... I'd be ok with a delay if it meant they redesign it or at least give us an option B.

No need for the indirect post dude... I promise I can handle any criticisms/disagreements.

Your "joke" wasn't missed at all by the way... if my previous comment was aimed towards only yourself, then I would've quoted you directly, but it was more of just a general comment to join in with the convo between numerous members at the time, basically pointing out that people shouldn't be afraid to express their honest opinion no matter what their role etc. as negative feedback can obviously be just as helpful as positive.

PS. I added an emoticon in my previous post to show that I was also joking. :)
