Do you have this one in hands reach?

There is a reason why it fetches crazy prices. Its a premium finish and the debossed gold and the gun look like it is with real gold paint. It looks that good.

No I don't. The only reason I thought it fetched so much was either the debossing or a low print run. Other than that it's the same as the UK as far as I know. Anyway my point was that it's not always the design of a steelbook that makes it desirable. Sometimes the most amazing looking steelbooks can be really cheap or in the case of Batman Begins an average looking steelbook is really expensive. Second hand prices are also true of this. Green Lantern HMV is still pretty sought after, but it has a terrible design and the German one looks much better.

The Japan one is alot rarer which will drive the price up well over $150 in the next year.

IMO all these Japan ones with exclusive art are going to go up way over $100 once they are OOS. These are the white ones. The ones released a year earlier like Knight and Day and A-team the sky is the limit.

Just think what these JP (and Korean) Batman steelbooks would cost you when they release a similar "white" version of The Dark Knight Rises with Bane on the cover EEK!EEK!EEK!

Them 3 will become the ULTIMATE trilogy set

Anyway, I don't want to get into an argument over this. I just think that the Canadian version of Batman Begins has better artwork and represents much better value for money. It has everything a steelbook collector asks for and at a reasonable price. Of course this is just my opinion and everyone is free to agree or disagree as they please.

To each their own. I myself prefer the Canadian release as it is more similar to the theatrical poster and fits the color scheme of the movie at all. That of course doesn't mean the Japanese version is not a beauty which of course it is.

Look guys it's all personal preference. If you like this edition better then so be it, if you prefer the Canadian edition more then thats good too. Lets not argue about it please. Thanks

That would be sweet but do you think they'll change it to new look by then?

That would suck if it happens.

wow^^^ Uhm... its just opinions people... no need to get toasty, lol. These and the other Batman steels are all pretty much nice in my book. Which one you prefer more is a matter of personal taste.

But as Ash said if a third one gets releases with Bane on the cover... watch out!

For me both editions are awesome, artwork on the Canadian releases more reflect clime of movies, on the other hand artworks on the Japanese releases have more comic character which in my opinion makes them more unique and also characteristic and interesting to look at. But to argue which release are better does not make sense because it's only a matter of personal taste and individual preference of each of us. It is like we want to convince someone about the superiority of white color over the black ;)
By the way, the best chance to become OOS from this Japanese Wave have right now "Space Odyssey" (probably due to the fact that for a long time this release was not available on amazon.ca) ond from the white ones this is "Blade Runner", checked on amazon.co.jp and this is condition for now:

2001:A Space Odyssey - 278
Blade Runner - 490
Seven - 848
Sherlock Holmes - 864
The Dark Knight - 884
Shawshank Redemption - 923
Matrix - more than 1000
Inception - more than 1000
Gran Torino - more than 1000

Missed out on this. Oh well. Happy with the other Batman Begins or Batman Begins/TDK combos I have.

I bought Batman Begins and The Dark Knight both from the same ebay seller, but now he says Batman Begins isn't available anymore.

Thank god I didn't make the payment, I'm not gonna pay for The Dark Knight either, I lost my trust to that guy.

And the rest Batman Begins-Steelbooks in ebay are ridiculously expensive, no way am I going to pay $100 for a one damn movie. I guess I will be waiting for the trilogy-Steelbook.
