Received one from Amazon this morning but it has a nasty scratch down the front so its going back to be replaced.
i wanted to pick this up from my local mediamarkt but couldn't find one single copy without scratches

There is a noticeable difference in the quality and finish of the UK SB in comparison to the US SB. The UK SB looks between high gloss and matte and has a nice shine to it.

Agreed but the UK release is noticeably better quality and worth the extra money.
Yup. Hopefully you bought the uk version for the superior finish on the steelbook.
Yes, I bought the US release first as it was cheap. Came to know that the UK release got a superior finish which I never expected and bought the UK one.
Amazon UK seem to have a large batch of these with scratches and markings across the top of the steel. Sent mine back without even having to open it, because the imperfections were showing from underneath the j-card

So went with sainsbury's in the end. £11.99 for this steel is more than reasonable..

You will probably find this was done whilst in there suppliers possession. Amazon wont notice it. I recieved all 7 batman steels from amazon mint. So im sure theres more good copys than bad.
Tx for the pics, but with the plastic and that lighting, it's hard to see the gloss you told for the UK edition...

You're not wrong. I did post on page 22. The us version is just matte finish, the uk version is a step up from that with more finish applied. Batman returns back print shows the difference. The us are prone to the image disappearing with light at a certain angle, just like the Warner premium collection that came out in the uk.
It certainly has a gloss effect mate. Opened pics have already been posted. Unfortunately can't open my US copy which I am selling due to paint chips.
