I am very concerned about zavvi imploding, they may have been completely incompetent and totally lacking in any customer service but they rarely didn't send things or delayed things and it's one thing after another this year with them

I should imagine most of the delays are down to the manufacturer or distribution centre's not getting items sent to Zavvi on time.

How many titles are generally delayed? I think the last lot I've had delivered were all posted before release date (and there's been a few). Sometimes dates are pushed back, and a few Disney titles arrive later than planned but usually there's no issues.

I don't think Zavvi is in any danger of going under, not with the amount of exclusives (pretty much everything these days) they get. The studios wouldn't deal with them if invoices weren't being paid (as what happened with HMV for a while). While their customer service and returns/damages policy leaves A LOT to be desired, I think if they went under no one else would pick up the slack with steelbooks. Amazon doesn't care, they seemingly have very few/no exclusives, and HMV (even with Xtravision posting to the UK) can be a lot of hassle to get what you want.
