Yes, I did

Warner doesn't allow a 3-disc steelbook set (2D + 3D + UE) in Hong Kong. So that's the reason why the ultimate cut is only included in one edition. If you take a look at the standalone releases in HK (steelbook, digibook and amaray) - they all have 2D + UE only.

So MantaLab tried to offer for each customer a version. They could offered the full slip with 3D + UE instead of 2D, but maybe it was another specification from Warner....

Surely there is enough room on the disc to put theatrical and Ultimate edition. I have seen plenty of blu-rays (and dvds) put 2 versions of a movie on one disc. "Alien" and "Aliens" comes to mind right away.

In reference to Post #86 (the light up eyes Armored Batman prototype case), is that Manta just tinkering around or is it actually going to be put into production at some point? If it is, I'd actually wait and go for this personally.

personally am not that bothered by what discs version are inside as they will never get played as i always buy the standard amaray as well so i don't have to open up my steelbooks lol :)
Don't you find that if you are always buying Amarays for all the films that you are also buying in steelbook form (particularly 3d and new releases) you are close to spending the same amount of money as you would be theoretically accruing and "saving"by keeping your steelbooks sealed.

Don't you just hate it when they design something and the names over the top of the image don't match who they are placed over

Great for one, not so great for the other. It's a little OCD but meh, the designs are awesome.

You could also argue that the opposition of the two is already mirrored by the layout of the slip and the position of the character and their names ;)
