Important Group Buy update
Official update for all group buy participants -

The licensing agreement for Black Panther, for unknown reasons, still has not been resolved and because of this Infinity War will now be being released first (roughly early December time). The licensing agreement for Black Panther is looking to be completed around November time but because of the other releases (infinity War, Greatest Showman, Three Billboards), Black Panther will not ship until January 2019 at the earliest.

Infinity War will ship with the same editions (1/4 slip + Box, One Click, DL, SL and full slip)

Group Buy members, we have a couple of options for you -

1. Transfer
Your Black Panther request will automatically be transferred to the same edition to that of Avengers: Infinity War. You will then be guaranteed a spot for Black Panther, which will be charged for again later on in the year (or potentially January 2019)

2. Refund
You can cancel your Black Panther request and be refunded. Please note that should you change your mind afterwards we cannot allow you to repurchase Black Panther. At this time there will not be a further GB for it (however this may change although not guaranteed)

3. Wait it out
Wait for Black Panther to be released. If you decide to wait it out, as a thank you we will enter you into a HDN sponsored prize draw.

The official GB for Avengers: Infinity War won't be live until November.

I will be sending this as a PM to all participants tomorrow too with the relevant instructions.

I'm covered with seller protection and have had some luck with that in the past(where ebay refund the buyer but dont charge me) so fingers crossed[/QUOTE]

I didn't realize that eBay would do that. Hopefully that happens again.

It sucks to be in this position but that's part of the game with eBay.
The buyers contract is with you and not Blufans.
I don't necessarily support what buyer is doing but the buyer is absolutely not supposed to deal with Blufans for a problem.
Also it doesn't matter one bit whether you state on the listing that you will not accept returns or it must remain sealed or any such conditions. If the buyer can show damage then eBay will 99% of the time side with buyer.
The whole success of eBay depends on buyer feeling protected ( rightly or wrongly).
I didn't realize that eBay would do that. Hopefully that happens again.
their seller protection is improving but in the ten years or so I've been on there, I've only had it occur twice, maybe 3 times in memory.
Its not common but can occur - guess ebay weigh up how much business they loose vs the buys from the buyer when they decide.

I also get that the buyer should deal with me but had it been anything bar a Blufans, I'd take that responsibility as I could go direct, but as BF dont sell direct, I dont feel I should have to as we all take a risk buying via GB here or elsewhere(even though the guys here are fantastic at working through any issues).
I've got paint chips on one of my IW copies and what looks like dust caught under the gloss on the BP steel I opened...but these are so minor I wouldn't dream of trying to exchange or kick up a fuss.
If they were dented, like some poor souls on here have suffered, then thats different.

all this said, if the buyer pushes for a replacement, can I arrange it via @cooey for just the one copy from the OC? (its the single lenti) just to keep them happy(am more worried about bad feedback as I dont sell much so it would really damage my rating)
or is the replacement window closed? (Hate asking this)

I would hope selling within a community like here buyers are aware of the risks they take if they purchase a sealed item with the intention to open, obviously if they want to be arseholes about it they can still raise claims with Paypal but again in the spirit of the community I would hope that's a route the majority wouldn't go down

See I would have thought it would be the other way around. But I see your point and I guess we should all know by now that there just isn't any way for the seller to know if there are existing flaws inside a sealed item.

So perhaps when it comes to expensive items, stick to group buys or buy on eBay where you're protected.

You're asking the wrong people. Best to PM cooey (as he's not much on the forums lately and may miss his tags/alerts) and see what he says when he gets around to his PMs. Good luck.

Unless am buying from a business seller, I avoid sealed steels on eBay for this exact reason - don’t want to take the risk of severely damaged sealed steels.
I want to know the state of a steel before I buy. I don’t mine a few nic’s so long as I can see them ahead of time.
Not that I get many from eBay, thankfully.

Think I sell more when I trade up (I have my HMV steel listed for DP2 at the moment now I scored the Manta copy)

Hate to bother him though....was hoping for a general email to pass on and satiate the buyer.

Will see what happens with the buyer over the weekend and contact him if I must.

Thanks for all the advice guys.

Thoughts on the WeET A1 FS vs the Blufans SL? I'm in two minds which one to buy..

I'll be popping my existing blufans 1/4 slip steel in whichever FS and sell the sealed steel either way. So it's literally just a question of which slip and extras to get.
