Important Group Buy update
Official update for all group buy participants -

The licensing agreement for Black Panther, for unknown reasons, still has not been resolved and because of this Infinity War will now be being released first (roughly early December time). The licensing agreement for Black Panther is looking to be completed around November time but because of the other releases (infinity War, Greatest Showman, Three Billboards), Black Panther will not ship until January 2019 at the earliest.

Infinity War will ship with the same editions (1/4 slip + Box, One Click, DL, SL and full slip)

Group Buy members, we have a couple of options for you -

1. Transfer
Your Black Panther request will automatically be transferred to the same edition to that of Avengers: Infinity War. You will then be guaranteed a spot for Black Panther, which will be charged for again later on in the year (or potentially January 2019)

2. Refund
You can cancel your Black Panther request and be refunded. Please note that should you change your mind afterwards we cannot allow you to repurchase Black Panther. At this time there will not be a further GB for it (however this may change although not guaranteed)

3. Wait it out
Wait for Black Panther to be released. If you decide to wait it out, as a thank you we will enter you into a HDN sponsored prize draw.

The official GB for Avengers: Infinity War won't be live until November.

I will be sending this as a PM to all participants tomorrow too with the relevant instructions.

It's a fine line between them producing too many and too few. I think Blufans are doing the best they can to make their editions one of, if not the most, sought after by collectors.
Definitely. They are doing quite smart, and they should be limited of course. But I see no reason why they should reduce from 3000 on Ragnarok to 2500 for this, just making it even harder than Ragarok was.

@Hewitt89 It might be that some of the steels ordered came with defects therefore they had to cut down on what would be available and let's not forget that they need to keep some for damaged replacements after fulfilment.

@Apollon I guess there can be many reasons. It would be easier to understand for me if there was another reason than just reducing the run. They would’ve sold 3000 BP in a minute. But do you think they have already received the steels when they announced the run some weeks ago?

@Hewitt89 Logically speaking, you announce the run after you have the stuff in hand.

Say you placed an order with Scanavo, and made the number known publicly before receiving the steelbooks, then you find out that X number of copies is damaged, you'd be in the unpleasant situation of having to inform your customers that you won't be able to deliver on all orders and have to cut down your initial run - another retailer who seems to frequently lately encounter this situation comes to mind.

The smart move is to obviously wait to have your orders in hand and then make your announcements.

That is the smart move, but as we've seen with the other retailer, it's probably not how it's generally done.

"Raffle" was also a new word for me :p
I was assuming it's first come first serve the whole time. Now I'm worried. Never won anything in a raffle my whole life... :sorry:
Fingers crossed that there are enough copies for HDN.

I think this is a fantastic ideaer for the GB and I have faith in Cooey he has always done a brilliant job in the past.and always provided fantastic service
This method has its advantages and disadvantages.

The plus side is:
- you don't have watch the thread that much anymore for announcements.
- you don't have to f5 for several hours anymore.
- you just write a post and you're eligible (if done a GB already of course). It saves a lot of time spending on HDN. just grab and go.

Downside:
- the longer the sign up thread is open the smaller your chance is to get one.
- dedicated watchers and f5-ers can see their release been given away to someone not so dedicated. so even more frustration.

Do I miss something?

I think that there are some more to the downside.

We don't know how the raffle will be done, I can imagine that friends of the one hosting the GB could get an advantage. Should be bad if they miss out, all power lies now with the one that does the raffle, of course I have faith it will be fair but it is not possible to know for sure, that's my point.

Then there are the ones with multiple accounts and addresses that will have a massive advantage since they can easily double, triple there chances.

Anyway, I guess these downsides were always there (maybe not so large) and it might turn out to be succes, as mentioned before it's still fantastic that these GB's are hosted here. Just prefer it as it was.

Let's keep it together. There is nothing to suggest the lottery will not be fair so stop suggesting so. The very fact that there are a couple of threads with plenty of time to sign up for a lottery is sign in itself that the admins & mods are trying their best to give everyone that qualifies a fair (as fair as the circumstances allow them) chance at getting one of these steelbooks.

You're relatively new here:

1- "the one hosting the GB" is a straight shooter and the guy doing the raffle happens to be the guy who started this site.

2- In the post I quote below, it clearly states that the raffle will be done LIVE (guessing on Instagram stories).

What I will be doing is a live raffle where you have the right to purchase the edition if your name ends up in the amount of qty offered. Example. If there were 10 copies and 20 members signed up then the first 10 names in the raffle then have right to purchase.

Then there are the ones with multiple accounts and addresses that will have a massive advantage since they can easily double, triple there chances.

We have a system in place, whereby users with multiple accounts can be identified and when caught trying to cheat the system, dealt with.

I bet they could easily keep the few copies that will be available all to themselves and leave the rest of us out.

Also, regarding the raffle Wreck and I are trying to look into ways where both him and I can announce live for everyone.

Thanks for the info Apollon. I take back what I said. You guys are the best! Live raffle should be cool.
