I still don't get what you have against 4K man. Blade Runner in 4K is absolutely spectacular, compare it with the BD and you'll see. No further comment needed.
not worth arguing with you
have a nice day
Nobody wins unless there's proof, concrete evidence and not just from one source . All I've seen so far is that major brands are dropping 3D and getting on the 4K train. I'm not biased as I can see why people like 3D, but there's just no evidence to support the theory that 4K is going anywhere but up. But I won't get caught up in this because I can picture the subscribers of this thread getting wearisome of this topic.
Then we're lucky, since this is a Sony movieWarner and streaky matte finish goes hand in hand. This type of artwork needs to be full gloss.

Passengers got a glossy steelbook as well
If you want to be taken seriously, you should stop stating the questionable myth of the all-powerful porn industry as fact. You're also ignoring that the adult industry initially chose HD DVD and only switched to BD after HD DVD failed. It's just good business sense to bet on the medium that is more popular with consumers. The only proof people can follow is what the adult industry is doing, they chose VHS over beta, they chose the bluray standard over HD dvd, they outsell all physical formats and what p*rn choses wins, they have bypassed 4K on large and gone for 3D and virtual 3D, what those companies chose will be the next format, 4K isn't it, its very simple.
The resolution bump is no reason to write home....Watched it in a state of the art THX cinema, film needs 3D, looks stunning in 3D, 4K not worth bothering about "I own a 4K tv too" I've bought virtually no 4K titles and own a fully spears calibrated high end Samsung Ultra4K set with stunning HDR before you comment! 4K D**Kstrokers need to give it up. Not real difference when set properly for viewing films and format already dead
The resolution bump is no reason to write home....
However, HDR is. The wide color gamut is a huge improvement.
And, for the love of all that is holy- STOP with these drawings for steelbook covers!
They suck. (And I mean, realllllly suck).
The only time they don't suck is when it is a master like Drew Struzan, Bob Peak, or John Alvin.
Stop letting the copy boy from the office who "likes to draw" do your art.
We are now reliving the crap that Universal did with "Reel Heroes" art.
Ug.
I'm not saying it's nothing.....But the resolution jump is not as obvious or dramatic (especially on smaller screens) as the jump from Standard Def to 1080p.Resolution bump does matter especially when the DI is 4K. You get true 8.3m pixels filling up your screen and you can watch things up close without any macroblocking / pixilation.
Check Blade Runner and Amazing Spiderman 2 4K.
Which is irrelevant unless you watch movies with an opera glass. You don't see pixelation at 1080p under normal viewing conditions.Resolution bump does matter especially when the DI is 4K. We're really not; this is original artwork, "Reel Heroes" stuff was traced from photos/scenes.And, for the love of all that is holy- STOP with these drawings for steelbook covers!

You're mistaking my stating facts for animosity.
