Personally, as I've mentioned many times before, I have always hated the comments about how pissed off people get because something they own can be owned by others. Pissed off by reprints because it hurts the "value" of something they purchased at retail price. Now other people have the chance to buy the same item once again at the retail price.

Boo f'n hoo.

I buy something because I like it for whatever reason. Not because I want it to go up in value. Not because it's something that not everybody can have.

You want to buy something original that not everybody can own and will go up in value? Then buy a Picasso.

All this metal, paper and plastic discs with movies on them aren't worth anywhere near the original retail price people pay for them anyway and someday they won't be worth anything at all and you all know that.
I think there is a pretty lage fraction of people for whom the value or the potential added value of a Steelbook is a factor in collecting and I think that's totally fine. As soon as it becomes the deciding factor though and when you "invest" more money than you can afford, then the dynamic changes and you become bitter and agitated when rerelases happen or your precious grails lose in value for other reasons (better releases of the same movie, as seen with Blade Runner Manta replacing the HDzeta one as the most expensive BR release).

I don't eally like the fingerpointing though and these moral arbiters of how people should collect steelbooks and what is acceptable and what not is unnecessary. I still smile when looking at my old zavvi orders and see how I bought Jackie Brown for 6,96€ or Sixth Sense for 8€ shipped and now these are worth 10 times that, but that doesn't mean I'm selling it for that or that I would kill myself if they rereleased an identical edition somewhere else. It would just be cooler if they relreased a new and potentially superior one...

I would really stay away from these nihilistic "I know the future and everything will be worthless soon anyway" statements. Maybe they will, maybe they won't, but I'm collecting steelbooks for over 10 years now and most stuff that was expensive 10 years ago is still pretty expensive :)

If there were 5 of each Picassos they wouldn't be worth near as much as they are. So good try, but point for the other team lol

We are all* potential resellers.

* Aside from the 5 or 6 ninjas that might claim they will forever be buried with their collection when the time comes.
Don't disagree and with limited runs and numbered editions then certainly then it's a consideration and reason to be annoyed about a reprint.
But in my opinion not with this. People that bought and it went up in value got lucky. A reprint for a retail wide non limited steelbook. Especially if its actually in a different country. Non issue for me.
(And yes I own it. And yes I paid retail. So there's no sour grapes or ulterior motive to my opinion)

Except diehard collectors, we all someday sing the same song...

I am selling
I am selling
On the Bay
The Evil Bay
I am selling
Stop collecting
Steelbook blu-rays
To be free

Yeah I don't even know what that's supposed to mean. There aren't 5 of each. Only 1. That's why I used it as an example of something to buy if you want to own something that nobody else has.

Amazon product

It's the Polish release. But at £54 it is by far and away the cheapest I have ever seen one out side of release. Two left if anyone needs.

Edit: it seems I cant post links. It is on amazon EU. Should be able to find it.

Odd, I didn't actually think it was released in Poland. The amazon uk listing stemmed back to an import on amazon Germany, that originated from amazon Italy. So I'd assumed the Italian release.. . It was about £45 shipped from amazon Italy an hour ago, ordered myself. All sold out now though.

The description lists it as Polish with polish audio first and english. I dunno. But I ordered one anyway.

How did the listing 'stemm back' to another Amazon, I don't get it?

It's an amazon EU import listing, being sold through amazon UK. Amazon EU listings originate from European amazon sites where items are available for sale from amazon EU directly, or from sellers who use their delivery service. I just looked up the ASIN, it wasn't that difficult.
