I recently ordered exclusive blank steelbooks. They arrived. Love them!

I wondered same thing. Pics aren't downloading properly for me but the partials that did download made it look like they were G1.

yes, they are G1 sized. G2 are coming soon in 2 styles.

i will only be able to customise the spine, but not the front and back. i may make a custom sleeve for some of them.

my wife would probably like our wedding in one of these bad boys with a stylish cover.

any thoughts on customising further guys?

You cant. They felt if they did that, it would hurt the sales.

I saw a guy that created his own custom ones - G1 for the TV shows - so he spray painted the steelbook black, and then added high quality / gloss printed stickers for the art.

Looked pretty good - think he did all the Fringe seasons so far...

I had ordered a couple while they still were live, but amazon.de cancelled the order, even with quantity in stock.

So, there is no way to get your own single blank ones at the moment.

I was thinking that they were made aware of this particular person selling the customs steelbooks he made on e-bay.

And you could see where the might be a case for infringement from studios and the like if this guy is selling unauthorized editions based on a product that is sold by amazon.de

The situation that prohibited this before, was that if you went and tried to order direct from Scanavo, you'd have to get a very large quantity of blank steelies.

Notice they never sold G2 sized ones.

My 2 cents.

The guy that made the custom has blank G2 size. He had ordered a bulk of them from Scanavo. If you want blank G2 size, then contact him as I'm sure he has plenty in his garage. He was saying that the reason why Amazon doesn't carry the G2 because Amazon and Scanavo couldn't reach a deal to sell them.

And make sure you deal w/ him on eBay (great feedback from there), but he has a bad history of not delivering outside of eBay (claiming not his fault if the post office loses them).
