I have just returned from jungle trekking in deepest, darkest Borneo. I have to say it was one of my life's high lights.. so far (Peru next year hopefully)
Here are a few pics that I took of the local wild life.

I think the reserve, which is near the town of Sandakan is about 400-500 miles from Cebu as the crow flies. Borneo is a large island roughly halfway between the South Chinese coast and Northern Australia. Fantastic for wild life. We were very lucky with the Elephants. They hadn't been spotted for months. Whilst we were going down the main river by boat I could smell them. I told the guide who took a detour and there they were, about 80 of them. From that point we saw them every day, even next to our camp. One day we were walking in the jungle and we literally bumped into the herd. The Bull was standing 15 feet in front of me with his ears out stretched calling. Then we looked up only to find an Orang utan watching us, watching the Elephants. I was in awe.
