Emailed to say replacement disks will be sent with copy of receipt or email order note - HMV has pulled from the website - wonder if the instore copies will have been withdrawn too?..

Email to [email protected]

If anyone missed the email address I posted earlier - shouldn't need to contact them as HMV are sending emails direct confirming replacements.

It's the same with that independance day - printed without the 'i' to give just ndependance day. This now sells for hundreds. Quite ridiculous. Predators was a major f**k up as well on many of the steels the 'predators' was printed but the lettering wasn't coloured in fully nor was the predators nose. That didn't add any value as far as i'm aware. Anyway hope this disc confuffle gets sorted soon have a mate that i'm sending it to.

went to hmv piccadilly to have a look, and couldn't fine any

I talk to a member of staff, and they said they where all taken off

because of problems with the disc,

they are going to get them back with fix disc Wednesday the earliest Monday the latest

so some news good news there.

i just recieved an Eamil stating that they are going to send a replacement Disc out , guess just like Amazon.de did with that Sucker Punch Disc...

Take care
John

I spose the replacement discs need re pressing, and then dispatched to everyone that has ordered from them. (A lot of people i`m guessing).
I had the same prob with the "Blade Runner" 5 disc set. I bought mine from Ebay, it had the faulty disc and i got the replacement sent to me, from America.
At least it`ll be sorted, at no extra cost. Just a short wait.

But, why owning an unopened steel, that houses a faulty disc is considered rare, i really dont know. Its FAULTY!!! I dont want faulty, i wanna good movie experience. Jeez. :violent:

It depends on your perspective- are you buying this item for the steelbook or for the film? If for the steelbook - its not fauty , whereas if you bought it for the movie - hell yeah its fautly !

Take cae

Great points John! I for one will not open it, so I'm not bothered about the faulty disc. If you have an unopened steelbook that's faulty and only a few others have the same faulty steel out of 4 - 8000 others, then it's rare!

So does anyone know if HMV plan to resell this steelbook when they've sorted out the disk issue? If not then its gonna make this steel rare in the same way the German Rambo was (kinda)

But what people aren`t getting, is, you then have an unopened steelbook. Now i tell you its the original faulty disc version. But it could just be the replacement version, the next batch. As you will never open it, (because you THINK its rare),you will never know. But its just a regular version that doesn`t pause or skip, but you`ve paid a huge premium.
The only way to keep it rare, is to print up new steels with some evidence, that you have the replacement disc version. Then owners of the original faulty disc, can sleep well, knowing its rare. Phew!!!!!

What if you have an unopened steelbook AND the replacement discs... wouldn't that be at least close to proof? It's unlikely someone has the replacement discs only... but I guess it depends how those are shipped and/or if they are sealed in some way. HMV better not send them in a jiffy bag :hilarious:
