Is this a thing? Are people buying these steelbooks and never opening them? I don't think I understand...

Same here but it is okay to keep one copy sealed if they have multiple copies or have no interest in watching the movie.

However, it feels weird to keep everything sealed and have fun by looking at the pics posted online. Like having an Ice Cream near your mouth and not eating it. :)

Got my copy today so I'm going to try my luck & give it a spin now :)

I'd imagine they would just keep the steelbooks sealed and include the replacement discs with any copies that are purchased in the future.

I don't think they will do that. I'm pretty sure they will put the new discs in and reseal them. They can't be seen to be giving out faulty discs with every steelbook.

I also thought about that. I keep hearing they are in financial trouble at the minute so it wouldn't surprise me. It wouldn't cost as much as resealing all the steelbooks again that's for sure.

I'm so frustrated. I have emailed HMV twice about the steelbook in my video being scratched at the back and I keep getting the generic response relating to the playback issues! I know about this but I need a new case! Jeeez! :(

The studio will no doubt pick up the bill as it is their error. The thing that worries me is how many are going to get damaged in the process of adding the new discs. If the blind swordsman in the HMV warehouse can't open the boxes without slicing the product, just think of what could happen when they have to open each steelbook individually! :ohno:

Now that could be what makes this steelbook rare :p

This is like doomsday for a studio. They basically have to do another print run without making any money on the first one. In addition they also have to pay people to re-insert the discs in the steels (if thats what they're going to do).

The amount of money the studio earns, this will hardly dent their pockets and a lot of people will admire them for admitting that there was a cock-up and admire them for how quickly they are willing to fix everything

Just a quick question... My brother bought a copy and its still sealed. I told him dont open coz there is some faulty. What do you think guys my brother gonna do? Thanks

If he bought it he'll get replacement discs. Depends if he opens his steelbooks or keeps them sealed ;)
