Look at the disc. You see a LIONSGATE logo to the left of the BLURAY DISC logo.

Under the Lionsgate part is a number:
LGB94935 - Original pressing
LGB94935B - Replacement fixed version

Anyone from U.S. still waiting on their copy, mine said it dispatched on 9/20, but still patiently waiting here, not like I can watch it right away anyways, but steels definitely seem like they are taking a bit longer to arrive stateside from UK recently.

That's because HMV changed their shipper and what used to take a week max to arrive now takes about three weeks.

I am really sorry to inform you that the steelbook version of CABIN IN THE WOODS has now been discontinued, therefore unfortunately we would not be able to replace your item.

Please return it for a full refund.

As you can imagine I am not best pleased. For those who have a mint copy, congrats as you now own one of the rarest steelbooks going!

No fair! I'm so upset. :tear:

I think the videos do it better justice as you can catch the light on it.



Plus my upset is more visible on the back too. :(

What about people (like myself) who preordered it but never got to get their hands on it before they were recalled? Surely they will get their Steelbook copies?

I wouldn't trust any response you recieve from a lowly customer service rep. They probably just noticed that they weren't selling it anymore and therefore said it was discountinued. They would probably say the same thing about the amaray.

+1 Don't give up hope just yet junkie, it sounds to me like a noob might have given you a standard reply without looking into the situation. I'd suggest waiting until the stores get the stock in with the new disc and then try again for a replacement.

Can't be certain but I reckon that's your best bet. Their systems probably just show 'discontinued' in the meantime

Here's hoping! It took 3 emails for them to address the issue I had. I kept getting the disc issue generic email each time. It was very frustrating. :angry:

I would be amazed if this has been discontinued over a disc issue. Surely they can replace the discs and reseal them. I think the person may not know what's going on and give you incorrect info.
 
it seems like its going to take hmv AWHILE to sort this out... doesn't seem like alot of people have received their orders from last month (me included) and it'll probably take even longer to ship the replacement disk then lastly they'll probably re-release this (or not)....:movie:

That'll be an automated response mate..... just be patient. It'll come back. Remember, Lionsgate originally said up to 2 weeks for replacement discs ;)
 
According to a AVF member HMV now have this for sale again in store. Great news for those worried about missing out. It has generated a lot of discussion about this one though. Maybe it will sell out anyway?
