My dad bought me my second car and told me that I could have it when I could drive it home. I told him I'd take the keys, and I've been driving a manual ever since. My favorite car that I've had has been an 85 Mustang with the 302/5.0L V8, 4-bbl carb, 5-speed trans, and t-tops. I don't own it anymore, but it's still in the family today. :scat:

i didn't have a lot of money to spend on my 4th car, so we just found the cheapest/best we could. just happened to be a 5spd. i had no clue how to drive one, so my dad was like, well i'll get us on the highway, you take us the rest of the way home. and thats how i learned lol. next 2 cars were stick too

I actually learned how to drive with a manual and feel bad for my uncles car, think i burned his clutch lol. My first real car was a stick Mustang and man i just loved the feeling of down shifting. Got my first 2 speeding tickets:( Now that im a family man i have a small SUV automatic and miss those old days, maybe later ill buy me stick shift car again to bring me back to those days.

I've never driven a manual shift car. The only thing manual i've driven, besides a dirtbike or 4 wheeler, is our John Deere Gator's at work.

Live on a farm so I pretty much had to learn. I much prefer automatic though.....It's kinda hard to text, and eat, and change CD's while shifting. :naughty:

I got my first in my 85 Mustang! It was a speed trap with the eye in the sky.

I never learned how to drive a stick, but with the traffic I put up with every single day I just rather not learn.

I'm not a big fan of it in traffic though.

Stick Shift all the way. I remember my first car was a little 91 Honda Hatchback. 2nd car was my baby though. 95 Honda. SI Hatchback (EG) Completely gutted and bulit from scratch. Dropped a fully built JDM H22 type S with a LSD Tranny. Stripped the back and had only 2 Sparco bucket seats. Gram light rims. GReddy exaust system. Carbon Fiber hood. Momo Steering Wheel. Oh those good ole Fast and The Furious days. Loved takig people money ;-). Then found out the wife and I were expecting and had to get rid of my baby :-(

I learned to drive on a stick shift!! :scat: Burned the hell out of my uncles clutch lol

LOL Good times! Dude! You count your mustang as your first car!! :( How dare you forget our Stick Shift Pontiac LeMans Hatchback lmao !!! Oh ya!!!!

I learned to drive on a stick shift also. My first two pick-ups were stick shifts and I miss them so much!!! Much better than an automatic. Automatic makes the fun and skill out of driving.
