[CANCELLED] Drive Blu-ray Steelbook [Canada]

There is rumour based on these links below that there might be a Canadian/Future Shop Drive steelbook. A future shop employee confirmed the possibility as well of a potential steelbook considering Alliance would be the one releasing it here in North America as the "exclusive: part is confirmed just not the "what".

edit - apsmith21 - Alliance has confirmed that this is not a steelbook.

Don't know much about the movie... but I would be tempted to get a steel of it as a blind buy, especially since I could get it locally.

its a great film IMHO. but then again movies are such a subjective matter. Personally I thought it was a fresh take on cinema with an excellent job by Ryan Gosling and the director that created a very unique feel to the film. One of 2011's gems I think.

I would recommend it as a blind buy. If this one doesn't pan out as a steelbook in Canada then Ill still get the UK steelbook.

They have not yet.

Drive is not out until the end of this month (January).

It's not listed on the Future Shop site at the moment, and the listing on amazon.ca currently shows a regular release.

Hanna worked out in a similar fashion, so it is possible. We'll keep this thread open until we know more info - but given what happened with Hanna, I think it's more likely to be a Canada-wide release and NOT a Future Shop exclusive.

Even if FS gets one i'm passing on it as I'm already getting the HMV exclusive and the French steelbook with the cd or without. I'm actually listening to the tracks that come on the cd with the French steelbook as I type this, and I'm definitely leaning on getting the cd version.
