Oh Zavvi, if you had reversed the front and back art, the shield overlapping on to the spine would have rocked, such as it is most people display their steelbooks with the front and spine showing.

For this to work, it would require to be displayed backwards

So close and I have to have it, the completist in me won't let me pass it up. It IS better, marginally, than their new Thor steelie but neither rival the previous releases.

The play.com Iron Man re-releases got it so right, I really had anticipated a continuing of that style...

I'm not surprised at the design. Afterall, we were told that both this and Thor would feature previously seen artwork.

I actually prefer both of them to be honest over the HMV versions as they feature actual poster art. I don't mind the original Thor too much, but I find the HMV Captain America somewhat lacking. That said, I'm not about to rebuy them just for a new case (especially if they've dropped the DVD from these releases which I bet they have), as I only ever see the spines anyway and these look essentially the same in that department.

The "reprint" will complete my Marvel collection, so far, so its a buy for me

I skipped on the original cap steelbook when I had the chance to buy it cause I wasn't a big fan of the shield art and preferred one of the movie posters.
This isn't my first choice but still better than the shield cover, so I'm happy with this one, as well as Thor.

After thinking it over a bit, I have decided that I will likely purchase this. I'm still not a fan of the artwork or anything and I much prefer the previous HMV (and others worldwide) release. As a Marvel fanboy and steelbook collector, I do need my Marvel movies in steelbook form. The previous release of Captain America isn't *really* expensive yet, but still costly. I think I might just have to settle with this one.

Who knows, maybe something will work out and I'll be able to get both releases and keep the shield design steelbook as a collector's item.

I personally am on the fence about this and the Thor release, I have both the HMV releases and if being completely honest I actually prefer the HMV artwork!!
Not sure yet, only time will tell......

I wish the back artwork didn't have the little scenes around that star.....and why doesn't the top right have any? Bad design IMO.

Why put those stupid pictures around the star at the back it is ridiculous, just ruin what could have been a decent sb, the front is not bad with some embossing or gloss could live with that but the back artwork is just wrong wrong!!

This was my point too. JUST the shield minus the pictures would've made so much difference to this. Please, Zavvi!
