Got mine in the mail today. It has some weird gunk that I think is on the shrink wrap:

Other than that, no dings, dents, spine slashes, etc.

Haven't opened it yet, the j-card may reveal otherwise.

Thinking about sending this back, doesn't come close to the original and I don't see it ever being desirable :dunno:

that was quick. maybe i'll get mine in a day or so hopefully. hell, i still haven't received The Goonies yet that shipped on the 4th. i know they say to wait 30 days before contacting them, but i went ahead today and sent a query about it having not come in yet.

I think that we all have to admit now that we'll have to get used to it. Matte dull finishes ARE the standard. No more gloss. Looks like theres a shortage of gloss or the gloss machine is broken.

Gloss appears to be available in short supply perhaps and at a premium which it seems studios dont want to do, so, matte is here to stay and rule the world :(
Yeah it really hurts to see the J Card all printed up nice and glossy next to the steel. Puts the finish on the steel to shame :(

Just received this today. Haven't opened it, but the front cover is AWESOME. :scat:

Very clear and high res image. Seriously the print job on the cover looks fantastic. Nice title embossing and border does not bother in any way.

I am very pleased with the way it looks and I think it's great that the steelbook collecting community now got a second chance to own Captain America on steelbook.

It does seem to be the norm at the moment. It is a shame when you see beautiful glossy steels like The Goonies come out. I think it has more to do with the cost than anything else, I'm pretty sure it is more expensive to have a glossy finish.:(

The Goonies, Argo, The Town, The Prestige, and Taxi Driver (probably more I'm not aware of) were all recent releases with nicely done finishes. It's kind of mind boggling why they'd cheap out on a high profile release like this... To be honest, I actually prefer this release to the original one but the matte finish keeps killing my interest. I may cave in and get it just so I don't end up needing to get one from eBay later on (if it was glossy, it would have been a no brainer).

It looks really nice, even with the matte finish.

Got my Captain America today. Like it, except the inside art is just a bad choice. I even popped it open to see if there was more detail being obscured by the plastic:

It's just a dark image, could gone with something better easily
