One of the first steelbooks I bought was German The Fifth Element and Trainspotting in 2007 on DVD, but 2012 and 2013 did have an unusual amount of steelbooks, for everything, from Jack Ryan movies, to Face Off and Chinatown as well as very large and prominent 'comic book' cover series in US, Canada, and Germany, and 'black' series in Germany.
I read though the thread and I find it funny that even back in 2013 people were already complaining about too many movies getting steelbook releases.
