UK rights are with 88 films be cool if they started to do steelbooks
Arrow Video have USA/Canada release but that's not a steelbook

YES!!!!!! Steelbook news are on a roll this week. I was suggesting a 'Children of the Corn' steelbook in the 'steelbook wishes' section here on HDN.
Any infos EU or US release? I want it either way.

Looks awesome. A few things: since the distributer is Capelight, it might be glossy (see Re-animator steelbook from Capelight or Battle Royale embossed and spot gloss). Another thing which i personally prefer, Capelight adds english subtitles as well to their german releases (many other german distributors do not unfortunately).
Title is in german, that's ok BUT it says Capelight will use a brandnew 2K restoration from Arrow for the first movie. This might means Arrow could release a steelbook of 'Children Of The Corn' as well, sooner or later?

Arrow Video steelbook would be USA release if that happened as they don't have distribution rights for a UK release

I have some Capelight Steelbooks and they are fab! (The Signal, Enemy, Re-Animator ...etc...) But I always thought Capelight put the original English title on their Steelbooks?

The non-English title is the only thing that baffles me too... I'm guessing they had no choice. I'll try and get more info in regards to subtitles anyway.

I never saw this classic yet and artwork is great so I will probably dig in. Non-English title is a downer, but I think I can get over it this time.

Just received the following info from Capelight...

I just talked to the product management guys and can only confirm english subtitles for the first Children of the Corn. Part 3 won’t have english subtitles. There’s a chance for part 2 and the remake. I’m sorry to confirm that we have to go with the german title. Would have loved the original one, Joshua [the artist] even began to work with "Children of the Corn".

I already have on pre order the USA Arrow Video release and that comes with a slipcover

I will wait till I see in hand photos of the steelbook to decide if I will double dip and also considering capelight are using the same arrow video remaster

Hmm so does that mean that the chocolate treat with a toy inside, known as Kinder Surprise (Kinder Egg to some), translates to Children Surprise/Egg? I never really thought about it until now lol.

Indeed. It's called "Kinder Überraschung" here, literally "children surprise" although a better translation would be "surprise for children". Ferrero is an Italian company but Kinder Chocolate was developed by their German branch, hence the German brand name.
