Glad I cancelled my order. My girls are disappointed as they want to watch it, but I'm not paying that for it.

The artwork isn't too bad to be fair, but this constant need by Disney to not include titles on the front and spine is getting beyond a joke.

One of the richest companies in the world in the entertainment industry and they're skimping on the manufacturing of these Steelbooks.

Shame really.

Great pics @ETSC by the way[emoji106]

Yeah the Mrs wanted this to but I couldn't have that on steelbook rack, plus I ain't paying that either...

Really ????
o_O

If my wife or kids wanted this, I'd get it for them in an instant even if I didn't want/like it.

Amazed by these responses

Yeah but I control the money in this household thank you very much![emoji4]

You can't have everything you want in life, I'm not bending to every whim because the kids say they want it, that's how kids become spoilt little brats!

My kids will be well grounded kids that have a proper perspective on life, not the feeling the world owes them everything!!

It's a give and take thing!!

If that's how you want to do things, that's your choice, good luck to you.

But don't try and imply that what I've done is a bad thing.

It's nowhere near as bad as people are trying to make out.

There seems to be a recent culture change on here where it's ok to crap on everything and mock people for their purchases.

It's wearing a bit thin

I certainly don't "crap" on everything or "mock" people for their purchase of this !

I'm a BIG FAN of U.K. steelbooks and have bought these since they first came out in 2008 and have just about every one released to date.

I'm just expressing my personal opinion of an item that I have paid good money for (almost GBP 24) and am holding in front of me.

I don't expect anyone or everyone to agree with my opinion and am not belittling anybody that thinks it is a good steelbook from Disney.

Anyway, what happened to the freedom to express one's opinion as long as it's not done in an offensive manner ?

Yes, it's true that I don't like this steelbook (and I have started the ball rolling to return it) and yes I did place my order on day one when it first went 'live' though it should be remembered that the front artwork pictured on the mock-up was completely different when I placed my order - I believe it was 'Artwork TBC' at the time but that doesn't necessarily mean it will not be the final artwork !
I had plenty of time to cancel as the later mock-up clearly shows no spine title though I was not aware that the partial slip would cut right across the shoe.

On the other hand, and despite the poorly done clunky 'glass' shoe, I would have kept this IF:-
- The slip covered the upper 1/4, in the style of the Taiwan edition, as opposed to the lower 1/4..
- It had the title on the spine - not bothered quite so much about the lack of title on the front.

Though, of course, I would have been much happier with a 'Cinderella 2015' steelbook with the original mock-up artwork and would have welcomed it with open arms to join its brothers and sisters in my collection. Alas, it was not meant to be.

If I decide to buy this Blu-ray it will have to be in an Amaray (when the price reduces somewhat) though it had better come with a nice quality slipcover to make up for this abortion.

Up to you I suppose - Happy to take to PM if you want

I feel that I should comment on some of these replies and the steelbook it's self, I am not crapping on this release nor taking anyone's sides but I do feel this particular Disney release is somewhat disappointing, I think this was a fairly steep price for what it is, I am a huge Disney Collector (from Amaray, Slips & Steels) & I know @mnementh is as well but even you have to be a little dissatisfied at what they have released in comparison to other Disney Steels they have released and for the price as well?

I do not think it is hard to imagine that some people would find it offensive. HiDefNinja is a community. A supportive one at that. Members of a community like this should aim to help their fellow members, in a similar way as you would help your friends. It is incredibly easy to be negative about something, to criticise it. But when you do it calls people who do like it to question why they do. It also is not very nice, generally. If one of my friends bought a pair of expensive shoes that were not to my taste, that he loved and enjoyed wearing, I would have the right to tell him that they were ugly in my opinion. I would have the right to stand in his face and list the reasons as to why I do not like them. But I would not, as hat would be mean! I also know that just because I do not like them does not mean that others (or his other friends) will not like them. So I would probably say something like "Wow, that's certainly expensive. I'm glad you like them, though".

So should you say something on a forum that is negative. As you say, you have the right to (though I think arguments are automatically lost when you start to mention rights, as they negate feelings and other important issues (morality, others feelings, etc), but that does not mean you should list out the reasons. You could have just said that it was not for you, that you preferred the mock-up and are disappointed that there is not a title on the spine.

I have not taken offence to it - I think you are wrong (your reasons are valid, but they do not add up to a dislikeable steelbook, in my opinion). But I can still imagine situations where people would not like to read all the negativity. As I said at the start, we should be supportive of each other.

Thanks for the considered, non abusive reply :)

Is this steel nice - Yes
Is it the best Disney release - No
Is it the worst (or an abortion) - No
Could it have been better - Wholeheartedly YES

But Disney's default seems to be providing WWA, so titles on the actual steels look to be a thing of the past from them. It bothers some people and not others. Either way people can buy it or not - it's up to them :)
