I’m watching the 4K Blu tonight with the family to build up the anticipation of this Coco GB tonight so I will be on the lookout for any French writing but I’m pretty sure I didn’t notice it at all originally and like you say is quite odd indeed

Yeah, that's what I was thinking, but it seems like such a silly mistake to make. I dunno, kind of ruins the fullslip for me. I wish someone would just say, there's french text all over the movie lol

I’m french so not a big deal for me (i even find it funny). But yes it’s weird, if the text was in spanish it would be understandable, but in French it's weird

I have yet to watch the movie (looking much forward to it!) so I can’t say anything about it having a context in the movie. But the film opened in France on exactly Nov 29th so I’m guessing that is something used for promotion over there. In that case it is definitely weird that they have included it on the cards in a Chinese release, for a movie that seemingly doesn’t have anything to do with France..

The french text on the art cards is definately a mistake. I watched this a couple of days ago and dont remember anything like that.

Hopefully they fix it (i’m sure they will.

Just finished watching Coco and just like I thought even though I’m not fluent in French or Spanish, Coco is Spanish through and through not a glimpse of French from what I can see.

Actually even though this is an “English” release film, I’m really keen to watching this in Spanish with English subtitles. I just feel some context is lost due to a disconnection in the authenticity of the film. It’s just like anime in a way and will always opt for the subbed version except for Cowboy Bebop and some of the earlier Hayao Miyazaki films (not Totoro) which are equal to the sub IMO. It is amazing how much more you can pick up on and relate to with the characters, reeling you in into the film and feel the emotions so much more when it’s in the native tongue which I feel enhances the movie most of the time. In saying this though the English voice actors are amazing in Coco and work splendidly, this was probably the most key element for Pixar to get the perfect balance which I feel they succeeded. As it stands Coco is one of my favourite Pixar movie so I’m pretty pumped about this GB.

Yeah looks to be like a misprint on that full slip or it’s still tentative surely that can’t be correct can it? Get where your coming from though and don’t know if it fully gels with me but could probably overlook it as the Full Slip is a real beauty and most likely my back up plan if I miss out on the DL.

Hard to say without them in hand but on screen I'm actually liking the fullslip just a tad more than the others. The cards ruin it for me a little. Maybe I could keep them sealed and flipped over LOL

Pixar went down to Mexico and studied/researched a lot before the film and many (most) of the voice actors are actually famous Mexican actors. I agree in regards to watching films in the native languages with subtitles as usually the dubs dont match up 100% (voice to face) much but for this it still works perfectly for most as there is a lot of "spanglish" so I dont think the viewing is any less of an experience for someone unless you're fluent in Spanish and then there may likely perhaps be more slang or phrases that are more funny in spanish then when translated to english or even "spanglish" for that matter in which we viewed. I would presume even with the differences between vosotros (Spain) and ustedes (Mexico) that likely Spain even received voice actors to change things up for them. Curious to know, or if the same voice actors recorded that twice. It's a big enough film and budget that many voice actors with different languages were done for other parts of the world.

Good point Wreck. I have not watched it myself yet but I've been told it was not released in regular Spanish, even in Spain. I guess it does add character that way. I'm fine with it.
