The way it works is not to choose French on the disc menu, but you have to set the player to French so the disc thinks it's in a French machine. People may have made that error thinking it was fixed and that the uncut version was not hidden on the disc? If it is fixed then it gives me even more reasons to pass on it and stick with my uncut slipcover

That's what I'll be doing too. If it's not going to be uncut then I don't need it.

If it is the fixed disc
Having fixed audio sort of makes the replaced disc more reason not to have previous disc
Extra footage is only a few seconds
I think it's more important to have a film with audio correct as this is the only version with correct audio

What's the deal with the audio? What is broken?

What's the deal with the audio? What is broken?

- as riders approach Conan's village the chorus has been removed in part of this scene. Then as the battle in the village starts the chorus is missing completely.
- in the tavern scene (after leaving the Tower of Set) the music is faint, basically inaudible at first.
- in the scene where Conan practises with the sword by the sea (after he has been "revived") the chorus is missing.
- when horsemen approach before the final battle the chorus is again missing. It is also mostly missing during the final battle.

There is also a video issue with the Blu-ray - the scene where Conan runs from the wolves after he has been released happens at night but this has been changed to day on the Blu-ray.

(Another obvious mistake is that the original sountrack in lossless has not been included on this release.)

And in case you wonder both the U.S. Blu-ray (by Universal Pictures) a the U.K. Blu-ray (by 20th Century Fox) seem to share these issues.

The original disc had uk and international cuts of the film
The new disc was issued to fix above audio issues and is now only the uk cut version
It's only missing a few seconds compared to international cut
Your not missing much
To me picture quality and audio more important
