I think this is evidence that Zavvi have overdone these ultra limited editions. At first I imagine most were pre-ordering every title, but now people are thinking twice and even cancelling orders on ones that aren't that keen on. I know I have been doing that, I cancelled this and Swingers a short while back though. If Zavvi want collectors to pay a £10 or more premium for the Steelbook, then it has to be a quality release otherwise it's a waste of cash for me. This doesn't really have much going for it; an average film, poor design and likely to have a poor finish. I would rather spend my money on something a little better.
I agree
Steelbooks are very addictive and it's very easy to hit the order button when you see a release is limited to 1000 or 2000 or 2500
Lot of the time can be order now so I won't miss out
Then at a later stage you wonder do I really want this
For me it's near release date I make that decision
Keep or cancel
It's easy when it's a title you really want and would have purchased even if it was not a Steelbook
Some of the ultra steelbooks I did not have on Blu-ray so it was easy decision to order
While some I'm not 100% on if to keep
Problem with so many been now ultra limited is to remember to make the decision to keep or cancel
It could end up at some stage if to many releases are ultra limited they will see lot of canceled orders near release date
If it's a brilliant movie with good extras and great artwork you will sell out 100%
If they keep releasing titles that are not in that category as in of poor choices customers will end up not ordering a release
They need to get the balance right on good wanted releases
