I think this is evidence that Zavvi have overdone these ultra limited editions. At first I imagine most were pre-ordering every title, but now people are thinking twice and even cancelling orders on ones that aren't that keen on. I know I have been doing that, I cancelled this and Swingers a short while back though. If Zavvi want collectors to pay a £10 or more premium for the Steelbook, then it has to be a quality release otherwise it's a waste of cash for me. This doesn't really have much going for it; an average film, poor design and likely to have a poor finish. I would rather spend my money on something a little better.

Yeah it's most definitely not an average film, but the design is nothing spectacular I agree. But considering that the design of 80% of steels over the last 6 months has been pretty awful, this is probably above average in terms of art nowadays.

First time I have cancelled an order since I started collecting. Still have the bug, as have been frantically pressing F5 in the pursuit of the Raiders steelbooks, but have definitely become much more selective. It is all subjective, of course, but have just felt that a lot of recent releases including Copland, have lacked a certain je ne sais quoi.

I agree about these limited print runs, this steelbook isn't likely to be of any higher quality than something like The Game steelbook for instance, which they couldn't give away, and yet we're being asked to pay £18 for this. No thanks.

Order cancelled. The more you have time to think about it, the easier it is to wake up and smell the coffee!

I agree
Steelbooks are very addictive and it's very easy to hit the order button when you see a release is limited to 1000 or 2000 or 2500
Lot of the time can be order now so I won't miss out
Then at a later stage you wonder do I really want this
For me it's near release date I make that decision
Keep or cancel

It's easy when it's a title you really want and would have purchased even if it was not a Steelbook

Some of the ultra steelbooks I did not have on Blu-ray so it was easy decision to order

While some I'm not 100% on if to keep
Problem with so many been now ultra limited is to remember to make the decision to keep or cancel
It could end up at some stage if to many releases are ultra limited they will see lot of canceled orders near release date

If it's a brilliant movie with good extras and great artwork you will sell out 100%

If they keep releasing titles that are not in that category as in of poor choices customers will end up not ordering a release
They need to get the balance right on good wanted releases

I think these limited runs are good for small niche films. But the fact they are releasing so many in one go is far too much, they should of just done the regular 4k for the big films at 14.99 and these ultras at a little bit extra.

When the "1000 print run" wishing well drys up, I expect a new and fresh Zavvi marketing strategy:

500 print runs at £19.99 (6 titles per month)

I'm thinking they will unleash more cinematic masterpieces such as:

Stop, or my mum will shoot

Lost boys 2

Blood sport 3

Home Alone 4

Can't wait :)
