Read a really great article today about how this guy quit the internet for a full year and what transpired in that year. Very, very interesting read IMO. I have always thought we have gone too far with being so connected all the time and social media and such going too far.

Anyhow, some rather sobering thoughts he shares on leaving the internet for a year in this article below:

I think if I moved to a small island somewhere with a few million $$$ in the bank account I could probably quit the internet. But 99% of life's scenario's aside from that I dont think I could!

No its just that simple... gone are the days where you used to go for a walk to entertain yourself or play in the park (obv when i was a kid ha) but now i have no need for fresh air haha bring on the internet

I use it for play and work. Information/Communication is important to living a full life today. The Internet has expanded both profoundly. Billions and billions interconnected. The world is much smaller than when I was a kid. Even if the guy does not log on for a year, his world has been shaped by everyone else who is online. (Haven't read the article yet... will do so this weekend for sure.)

Honestly, no. I live 5K+ miles away from my family, so i most definitely need the internet on a daily basis. Other than that, it's my main source for music...and i just can't live without music. Sooo.....no, imagining life without internet is the stuff nightmares are made of. :D

It all depends. If I was having the adventure of my life -- seeing the world and its beautiful sights -- then yes, I could easily live without the Internet. If I was just sitting at home still, then hell no, I need my Interwebs! :hilarious:

No way could i live without the net. Between all of the sites i frequent, like this one, and all of the movies, games, clothes, and such that i buy, i definitely need the net.

I can't imagine not having the internet. It has to be the BIGGEST advancement of this century. I remember my life without it and how much has changed and made my life easier with it.
