I can't believe there isn't a thread in here strictly for Beer. Well now there is.

So I'm going to Phoenix and this store is about 3 miles from the house I am renting. I need some recommendations of beer they sell. I'm looking for Hoppy beers please. I've had a few of them they sell but not allot. HELP ME OUT!

im going to minneapolis this weekend. hoping to pick up a good allotment of surly and deschutes while im there. possibly town hall if we get there, but they only sell growlers so we'll see if my wife lets me

Just had the coffee bender on tap at a bar here. It was fabulous! Definitely gonna pick up a 4 pack tomorrow.

heres my minnesota trip beer pickups! (went a little crazy, lol)

pretty much hit everything surly had to offer, only thing i didnt take home was the cynicale and the bender, both of which i had during the trip just didnt buy any bottles

from left to right:

deschutes obsidian stout
odell mycenary dipa
surly furious, coffee bender, surlyfest, bitter brewer and five

loved the coffee bender, and the five is very very unique. looking forward to aging some of it. oh yah, Off: my sister ended up getting me one more bottle as a gift, so if you wanna trade for it id be up for it seeing as i got plenty

funny story: my sister's roommate sniped on of my myrcenary dipas today (without asking). i bought a 4 pack yesterday and went to take it out of her fridge today right before we left and saw my 4 pack was a 3 pack. i think she was a little PO'ed with us since she gave us a few dirty looks during our weekend stay. i think she tried to hide it too as we couldn't find the bottle in the garbage/recycling, lol

Picked up my first of 8 bottles today lol. Hopefully everyone gets their case they are expecting. I am gonna go out tomorrow and get more since thats when a few stores get their shipments in.

On a side note. Good hauls Wreck and Mobius. Surly doesnt make a bad beer IMO. Hopefully Five holds up with age. I have one bottle left lol.

i called the three specialty bottle shops near me and they havent gotten any shipments in yet. one said either wednesday or thursday, another said friday, and the third guy said whenever he gets it he's holding a bottle for me.

so im hoping to be able to get 2-3 bottles of CBS. seeing as i just spent $140 on beer last weekend, my wife is not gonna be a happy camper if i fork out another 40-60 for cbs, lol

as for the trade: i only picked up one 4 pack of coffee bender, and i kinda want to keep them. id be willing to throw one in tho so you could share in the coffee goodness.

do you have any special beers from boulevard? im interested in trying their BBQ or their 21st century fresh hop pale ale.

or any schlafly beers? im interested in their reserve imp stout, or their raspberry coffee stout.

let me know if you can get those beers or are interested in the trade. if so, we can work out details. PM me!

good luck getting all 8 splax! i agree with your assessment of surly, although i didn't enjoy the bitter brewer as much as the others. really looking forward to their release of wet as i heard its being brewed with 100% citra hops vs 50/50 with simcoe which was last year

That's insane, the first of 8 bottles! I lucked into the bottle I got. I called a couple places and they were working off of reservation lists that had magically appeared over the weekend, but I know a guy that knows a guy that works there, and got me on the list.

Mobius - I've got access to a lot of the Boulevard stuff, but not the BBQ or 21st. I'm actually having to trade a local guy for the BBQ. Schlafly is different story. There are still some 2008 Reserve Imperial Stout floating around town that I can get, the Raspberry was just kinda average, and then there is the Tripel, Grand Cru, Biere de Garde, Citrus Wit (coming very soon, 20th Anniversary beer). Before the end of the month, 2nd Shift Brewery, one of my absolute favorites, will be bottling. Right now, two beers are scheduled to be bottled in 750mL bottles at around 300 bottles per beer. The first one is Unicorn Killer Saison or UK2 and the other is Liquid Spiritual Delight or LSD. LSD is a 7.X% ABV stout. I'll PM with some ideas.

i got a good phone call today. one of the three places i put my name in reserved me a bottle of CBS! they only got 12 bottles, so i was pretty fortunate to get one of them.

Glad you guys are getting some CBS. Reading the forums on beeradvocate it seems like here are a lot of pissed off people not getting any. I just picked up 3 more bottles and I'm getting 2 more tomorrow. I am curently at Kuhnhenn brewery drinking some beer. Lol.

yah, and ive heard some shady stores on BA, like stores charging $45 per bottle, or other stores lying to customers about when they get them in.

im very fortunate the store i got mine from today makes a list of people and then just goes in order, cause i called them like 2+ months ago

what a tease

i got a beer tasting party im going to this saturday. there should be a good amount of people going, all medical students who like beer. im debating on whether or not to bring a very powerful DIPA, or just play it safe. most of my other beers are safe ones, so i kinda want to spice it up.

my other reservation is that its my last bottle, but im pretty sure its brewed year round so im not worried about getting more
